The rioters stole suitcases to help them steal stuff? I'm sorry, but that, is f--king genius.
Scousers wouldn't of even thought of that.

I think the table leg was actually concealed in a plastic bag or something. God, imagine if the cops thought a guy was concealing a weapon when he was actually just very pleased to see someone
Yes, the table leg was wrapped up. I'm sure he didn't think he was concealing it, though!
I deleted my post - it was funny in my own head You've quoted me though Hi Blizzums
PS I don't think the guy was intentionally concealing the table leg in a way to rouse suspicion, you're right.
Lived in Tottengham for two yeaaaaaaaaars
T was the man.

One of the photos showed a balaclava'd looter with a shopping trolley.
I hope he put a quid in!
There are photos doing the rounds on Arsenal forums of the Spurs ticket office all smashed up - don't know if it is genuine.
Brought this forward from page 1,interesting article.
The bullet found lodged in a police radio is said to be police issue, their own.(Gaurdian live blog)
It's long overdue that the police bring out the water cannons and the rubber bullets and stamp on these thugs once and for all.
They are not angry about the justified death of a gun shooting nutter by the police, they just want to loot and hurt people for no reason and are using this as an excuse, I bet if you ask any of the young rioters the name of the man who was shot they wouldn't have a clue what his name was.

bet the little arseholes couldnt spell his name either-robbing bastards-not just kids-big people too-looting-kids aint got a chance if the elders are showing them this is how its done

Oh yes, they are all at it, just a bunch of scumbag criminals.
All the little Ali G wannabe's are out in force tonight in Enfield.
Boris and Co need to return to Britain.

I totally agree........ on both counts......
They make less mistakes than I would cos I'd arrest them all and those that ran I'd just blow their fecking heads off....
Oh, and I forgot about the Scottish bloke, holding his mended table leg, who was mistaken for an Irishman holding a gun, so he was shot!
So not a bad tally compared to what the scum have killed with their guns....
It's spread to Enfield now!
It's spread to Enfield now!
Must have run out of supplies..or once they got their swag home the orders came in from the families..fecking scum....
Ah but Enfields a bit more up market than Tottenham - truthfully downtown Kabul is upmarket compared to Tottenham. There's a reason why the locals call it 'Nam'
No Lidl and JD Sports for the rioters tonight, it'll be Waitrose and Gap
So not a bad tally compared to what the scum have killed with their guns....
I've no problem with gun toting scum being shot by the police, if they are actually shooting back.
Like the barrister in Chelsea, who shot through a neighbours window. http://www.channel4.com/news/b...police-inquest-finds
I do have a problem with trigger happy police and it will be interesting to see if the report from erinp's link turns out to be true.

*** battens down the hatches ***
justified death of a gun shooting nutter by the police,
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
i think there is a vast area of doubt about that description of him vids, it seems the bullet that was lodged in the policeman's radio was , in fact one fired from a police gun.....
so that rather throws the police story into some doubt...

Indeed.
I've heard that the gun was in a sock, when it was found, and that he'd started carrying a gun after his cousin was shot dead in March.
Not justifying carrying a gun, at all, but, by all accounts, he wasn't a violent nutter and could have been arrested without any shots being fired.
Apparently it's just 'unrest' in Enfield, not rioting....YET.

Sorry Blizz but noone but the police and army should carry a gun..knife crime is bad enough in England without guns..

That's coz it's Enfield EFFT. They're posher.
Bit like the statement from Rolls Royce "our motor cars do not break down, they simply fail to proceed"
Plus the rioters are all waiting for the night buses to get there!

Shooting from inside a sock or a carrier bag stops transfer residue....

Shops too posh for them pehaps
Clashes have broken out in Enfield, north London, where shop windows have been smashed and a police car damaged.
As many as 200 youths were involved, with riot police using batons and charging at the crowd.
The Met Police said "several arrests" had been made in Enfield.
Residents described the damage to the area.
Sorry Blizz but noone but the police and army should carry a gun..knife crime is bad enough in England without guns..
Totally agree.
I'd arrest them and lock them up, personally!

Can you imagine losing everything and some won't have had the money for insurance but even so insurance does'nt replace old photo's and precious keepsakes of family who have passed....
My Dad worked in Tottenham 20 years ago under Scottish Power... once got threatened with a guy with a Samurai sword in broad daylight because there was work going on nearby. He was supervising and the guy went beserk, went back into his house and when police came round... they just warned him and that was it
Sorry if its slightly O/T, just as its Tottenham thought I would add to it.

I was more thinking about children living their childhood, and looking on at the joy us adults are bringing to them...........
But Syd, children have always been fascinated by fires. They're drawn to watching the firemen using their hoses. There's always a crowd of onlookers when there's a fire....and firemen tackling it.

I know fluff, but, the influence of violence and lack of control around them, must take its toll, children are not stupid..they have ears...these children are not just watching a house fire, they are having to take on their shoulders what has gone on.....

Police could go around arresting well dressed people tomorrow....

..you'll be ok just wear some Primarni...
Someones just posted on another forum
Danny Dyers there in the thick of it - well I say he's there but he's actually 5 miles down the road but still giving it large!
I'm old enough to remember the riots of the late 70's/early 80's in London. The more things change the more they stay the same.
Same police abusing their powers, same so called community leaders using the trouble to push their own agenda, same bandwagon jumping kids looking to thieve under the banner of disenfranchised yoof.
So... where is Gazza with the fishing rod, chicken and larger?

Pretty much sums it up!
