Fair point Soozy, maybe some of it is down to logistics but I still think a big part of it is the fear of being seen as racist.

No doubt Diane Abbot and the rest of her ilk will be out in force soon with the usual apologist shite for these little scroats burning some poor family out of their home

She was interviewed earlier on the BBC veggie, and was clear that there's no excuse for what's happening

Yep  and now on the news they're discussing how the Police are standing back. Who can blame them? They clearly cannotb do right from wrong - God help us if some robbing, thieving, arsonist  gets knocked down ----------------------they'll be endless enquiries going on for years and it'll all be the Polices's fault!

The police have a job to do - they're frightened to do it - LITIGATION!!

Did she not defend them then Slinki? If so then I apologise to her but I have heard 20 years of ill informed statistically incorrect apologist crap from her so I base my opinion on that.

Now we've got Ken Livingstone on Newsnight defending the yoof whilst simultaneously (sp) saying that the police have to come down hard on them

This was all predicted last year with the Tories cutting police, cutting benefits and cutting the police.  Add to that a corrupt political class, corrupt police, money/jobs getting tighter while for the rich, it's business as usual.

Now, I'm not naive enough to think rioters are politically motived over cuts or even the police, they're clearly taking advantage of a situation to get some free stuff and/or for their own malicious kicks but the fact remains, the way this country has been going over 30 years, something was always going to give.

Who is really surprised?  If it wasn't this year, it would be next year.
