I'm glad you liked it. I don't remember the first episode being particularly raunchy though. Maybe just wasn't as bad as other episodes.
Was fun trying to spot the NI locations - pretty sure it wasn't the sunny bits The hilly muddy bits with rushes everywhere looked familiar though.
Ah yes. It is fun when you know the locations. I'm guessing the Riverlands and the Vale are NI, Kings Landing will be Croatia and up North will be Iceland. Used to sit during Taggart location spotting (once they used the garage under the bridge in our street and Merkland Street bus station whilst I was sitting (hiding below the window) on the bus.

CP's programme on burrowers was heavenly. Orphaned badgers put together in a set with a glass side 
The rabbits and the will they - won't they water voles were great too.

It was! Unfortunately I had to watch it via Iplayer and it froze/stopped at the 40 minute mark. 
Those badgers were the best thing ever.
Pity you missed the last bit. Near the end the water voles sealed up entrances - possibly babies are on the way?
Did you see the badgers all cuddled up in the set? At least Bramble joined them in the same chamber [but was still sitting apart].

Watched four G.O.T. episodes straight last night - was up to 4 a.m.

Apart from Tyrion, who is bit of a loveable rogue and my favourite so far. [ I do like the bad boys - Don Draper, Roger etc].
Tyrion is a wonderful character, it's nice to see Peter Dinklage in a more serious role. You may enjoy Bronn too, when he shows up... if he hasn't already.
I should probably mention Loras Tyrell too, the Knight of the Flowers. He is kind of important.

3 eps of series 1 to go - King Robert has just died + Eddard has been nabbed/betrayed. It fairly rattles along Its great the way the characters are neither fully bad nor fully good.

Yes, Sam is a sweetheart. Edd is a late arrival to the Wall, but I think he's been in the Watch a long time. He's snarky, honest and funny.
You should've met Bronn by now. He's Jerome Flynn and hangs out with Tyrion.

I have been doing overtimes. Turns out there's a school being staffed for cleaning by all overtime dinnerladies. They cut down the numbers to the bare minimum, so as soon as someone is off sick, everyone is screwed.

Yeah... the infamous Red Wedding. In hindsight, Robb never had a Point of View chapter... it should maybe have been a clue. Yeah, wasn't that fussed about losing him and can't remember her name (in my defense, she should've been Jeyne Westerling, but isn't) either.
Ramsey Snow... you wouldn't be surprised that he's known as the Bastard of Bolton... Literally and figuratively.

The books are good, I'm on part 2 of the last one, definitely worth a read... there's a lot of elements the shows misses out.
My favourites generally aren't big characters. I love Dolorous Edd, Edmure Tully, Pod, Tyrion, Jorah Mormont, Arya, Dany and dragons. I dislike Cersei, Littlefinger, Tywin... not too many I dislike, as you said, people have their good and bad bits.
Ah I see, thanks. I'd agree with those I also have a sneaking like for The Hound and Varys... or maybe its the actors who play them are so good.
