Have you heard anything about the TG Christmas special? I didn't get my festive radio times yet. Tesco were supposed to deliver today but didn't show up. Supposed to be redelivering 7-9pm tonight 

I got three Radio Times last week... it was a little discombobulating. I'm not sure about tg xmas special, I will check tomorrow, as I am just back from the Hobbit and full of the flails. *nods and flails*

Was The Hobbit a good read? I quite enjoyed TLOTR trilogy. and thought them better than the films.

The Hobbit is, but it's a little more kiddie than The Lord of the Rings. Then again, it is technically a children's book. (They get harder as it goes on... The Silmarillion, that's a fun read. *ahem*)

It's nice  to see things like the ring showing up with the hindsight to go "ah ha!"

I'm in the mood for a fun read... I should give The Hobbit a go "nods*

I was out last night, got given my xmas and a few of my birthday pressies.

Hopefully there'll be a New Year special or summat... if Jezzza said that there must be something coming up

There's a Mock the Week Xmas special on my birthday... Not quite the same though. Disappointing Xmas televisually.

Haven't really looked in the Radio Times- is Christmas tv disappointing? Theres a series of old films coming up, saw it advertised on BBC4 - Liz Taylor, Marilyn, Ingrid Bergman  etc but no Bette Davis. I'm in a grump about that.

It is a bit disappoint in general, yes. There's new Doctor Who to look forward too, it has Madame Vastra and Jenny which'll be nice.

He is from the 17... something or other timeline. (have I ever actually tried to explain this show? I think it would give me an aneurysm. ) A little early for Dickens, but close enough. (ok, not at all.)

*tries again* Although, the main body of the show is set in the late 60s/early 70s... there is a doorway on the staircase that contains a portal to different times. Quentin is from the 18th century.
