b.t.w. did you find your Italy top Hitch?
no... but I'm off now... can search long and hard tomorrow.
Nice American Dad avatar... I think that's the alien from that at least. lol
It is indeed, Roger in one off his many guises.
Hope you find your top *nods*
*nips into give Hitch a replacement shirt and to wish Italy good luck*
Thank you. You picked the best Player too.
I didn't find it. I wore a red shirt with green chucks... seemed to do the trick.
They made short work of Germany
You have to love the Italians... they always start slow and get better.
Did indeed. *nods* Mario's goals were lovely. Determined that Pirlo shoulf get one in the final... Buffon too if that's possible.
Yay! Can't wait for tonight's final. Though it does clash with Chris. [He'll have to wait].
Pirlo looked sad... Buffon looked sad too... These things make me not happy.
Anyhow... got Chris for later tonight. And last night's Once was the dwarf episode.
Yes Pirlo and Buffon's faces were so telling.
I felt down at the end.
No disrespect to Spain... they are undeniably brilliant.. but glum all the same.
I have the house to myself and have hooked my NES up to the 50 inch hd telly, downloaded a set of maps because the ones that came with Zelda are missing and I'm going to scoot off adventuring with Link.
Sounds like fun- though I haven't a baldy what it is.
pretty much this...
Games from 1988, console is older... seems to be work better than it did then. *knocks on wood*
It looks ok for 1988. That was about the last time I played a computer game.
It was easier in 1988 too... *glares at death count*
I used to play Atic Atac on our beloved ZX Spectrum... Did you ever hear of it? It was brilliant.
I've watched half of CP... got a bit bored. Dunno whats up with me at the moment? Anything with an intelligent thread running through it seems hard going
My cousin had a spectrum... not too aware of the games for it. I had a NES and an Amstrad... friends had Commodores and Ataris. Gods I miss the 80s sometimes.
There was a lot of pretty last episode... flying squirrels (surprised to see Chris have a Backshall-esque reaction to them), bears and lynx with a baby lynx(!!)...
My wanting a reintroduction of lynx to Scotland has multiplied manyfold. *nods*
The squirrel hitting him was amazing. How did they set that up so perfectly? They have well behaved animals in this series.
I worried about that first squirrel that hit... didn't seem to get back up like the others... O.o They do see to be, but then we're talking about generally friendly animals like orangs and sloths. Anyhow, last one this week.
Been watching the Hollow Crown? It's good, but fairly clear that it was Shakespeare's "suck up to the Tudors" period.
Haven't seen it. Saw the Simon Scharma programme on Shakespeare though, so I think I know what you mean.
This week's will be late... stupid, bloody racquet ball.
Was it good? I also saw the Ethan Hawke programme on Macbeth - excellent.
It was good. What channel was that on? MacBeth is is one I actually liked reading.
It was on BBC4. It can be downloaded until 10 pm tonight
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/e...an_Hawke_on_Macbeth/
It gave some fascinating background information to the Play. I also didn't know some of the place names exist, and look exactly how I'd imagined them.
Don't know why that link came out huge lol
Ok.. I'll give it a go later.
I think Macbeth is my favourite of his plays - well, the few I know lol. I think about it quite a lot. The last series of Mad Men really reminded me of it.
Do you have a favourite Hitch?
Out of the ones I've read... yeah MacBeth... Tempest was dull... and Romeo and Juilet were just bratty, idiot teenagers (hated that one).
I haven't read these ones bbc2 are doing, I do have them... we were give a copy of the complete works... First one was Tempest which I never got through. I do think the "historical" ones are more my bag though.
The way you feel about Romeo and Juliet is how I feel about Hamlet.
Sorry for more links but its a very interesting article about CP going back to his days on The Really Wild Show. Oooh his ex colleague seems quite catty about him http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-a...nborough?INTCMP=SRCH
I think I've read that.. I'll see if it's what I think and get back to you.
ETA.
Yeah, read that... he tweeted it... or Martin... actually... springwatch tweeted it. that's it.
I don't even know who she is... I thought the third person was always Michaela, that woman must've been before my time. *ahem*
he's sounds a bit like me in that. not a people person, rather be off with myself than down the pub in a crowd... although I do wish I had even half his drive and confidence.
He isn't going to change for anyone. good boy. *nods*
Yep he swims against the tide
I saw a pic of yer one, I recognised the face but had no memory of her presenting.
Like a salmon... or some such.
Was going to finish off the salmon simile, but it sot of veers in the wrong direction... all that talk of spawning... *tuts*
Though it is a lot of effort for v.little. Salmon aren't quite bonoboes.
b.t.w. did you watch Volcano Live? I saw bits of it, 'twas ok.
Ah... the banobo... *shakes head*
I didn't, I mean I like the volcanic landscape on the wrong side of Edinburgh, but that's about it.
Been watching Secret Dealers, Not exactly educational (I learned my historical periods due to season 1... William the 4th had been unheard of!), it's my guilty pleasure, and the dealers are very nice. *nods*
Secret dealers sounds good, like Time Team without digging through the mud
Speaking of guilty pleaures, Steve Bachshall was stripped off in Britain's Lost World on Monday.
OK, try again (internet has been a bitch).
I shall add that to my iplayer list... iplayer has been a bitch lately too.
Oh no internet problems are a right pain
Is your ISP on the blink?
I don't know comes and goes.
I made it almost the full way through the Steve Backshall thing before it cut out. Those swimming shorts (pants?) were indecent, thank you ever so much for letting me know. The bit before that with the sinking boat was hilarious too.
No probs Hitch.
He gets his kit off at every opportunity. Notice how they woke up in tents - the other two clothed and Steve not It looked too chilly for such disrobing.
St Kilda is beautiful and even better its unpopulated - paradise.
