Good for Scotland. The Church of Ireland ( Irish version of Anglicans ) offered relief to the starving, but only if they converted from catholicism to protestantism. Hence nowadays, you have a lot of protestants in NI with Irish/catholic surnames. I'm not sure what the Catholic Church did for the famine poor either - probably nothing

Yep thats it. Snow!!!! None here, but I live in the marina ( ie beside the sea ) so it hardly ever snows here. What can we do to make you feel Christmassy?

well, it was only a little snow... didn't lie.. living in a valley is as bad for snow as a marina.
