How are you doing Hitch. All set for Dirk?
Dirk was amazing.
I was first in his queue, the first couple of pens he tried didn't work... he was in a grump. He went to hand me back my boxset, I went to take it, he pulled it back, said "Thank you for remembering me." handed me the boxset and went "Who am I again?".
Then his panel was hilarious. I didn't know he played Columbo on stage. Never came north of the border with it. That said, when the moderator instead of saying "one more question" asked him for "just one more thing"... he misunderstood and launched into the whole Columbo act. It was the stuff of legends.
Sylvester McCoy is also the cutest of all the cuties. He had to "go off for an euphemism."
I also, bought stuffs... too many stuffs. I got a new bag (I needed one. It's Wonder Woman.), A Drax Funko Pop figurine (I always get one), a Hufflepuff notebook, a little Totoro and 5 badges (I said I wouldn't, but I passed the stall and went "Ooh! Is that Illya Kuryakin?". I now have a bunch of retro badges.
Julian Glover had an issue with some locked doors... I was the only witness.
Best day ever... and we've got new Who to come.
What an absolutely ace day!
Ahhh that Dirk, he's so charming...
Glad you had a great time and bought some good stuffs.
I am happy.
I am happy.
Hope Dr Who was ok ... and you're still on cloud 9
Doctor Who was excellent. "I'm Scottish! That means I can complain!" Yayness.
I also got retweeted by Mike from MST3K, today has been perfect.
Yay! As if it couldn't get any better
That was a great line. Peter Capaldi makes an excellent Dr Who.
He was indeed. It'll be nice to see him settle into the role in the next couple of weeks.
Back to Dirk... what did he write on your boxset? How was he looking?
Ok, second try as Facebook and Shockwave are working together to break my laptop.
Dirk is looking fabulous for his 69 years. I give you (slightly blurry) photographic evidence.
I have issues getting this one to stay upright... but you get the idea. Dude doesn't stand still for a minute.
As for what he wrote...
I do wonder what he would've wrote on an A-Team thing, since that was so specific to Battlestar. I see a picture of the A-Team on his table for signing that made me rue bring that awkward dvd set... but that was mainly because of Dwight's face on it. XD
I had to write those URLs in manually, shockwave being an arse on Photobucket too it seems.
ETA: Here's the one that made Temps exclaim "You were so close to him!".
Wow I'm mega impressed!
Thanks for posting the photos Hitch.
You're SO close to Dirk He looks phwoarr amazing. Great inscription too
I was indeed. In fact I was even closer at one point... think about it, we could've touched hands as he handed me back my dvd... we didn't.
After all this, could you imagine what I'd be like over Dwight? Murdock was my first childhood crush... don't think he's aged as well as Dirk though.
Ah yes... very few resist time the way Dirk has.
Not bad for 69 at all. (He's says 70, he rounds up.)
It must be the skipping
On the Monday, there was the normal "Do anything good this weekend?" conversation. So, I was all "I got my Battlestar Galactica DVD signed by Dirk Benedict on Saturday." *massive grin of 'be jealous'*...
You what reply I got?
"I don't know who that is."
I was aghast. She's in her 50s, she would've been in her early twenties when he was in his TV hunk prime... How?
Say whaaaaat? Did you tell her who he was? Even she must have heard of the A Team!
I said "Face from the A-Team."... got an "Oh."
Some people...
Some peeps are hard to please.
Hows things up in Scotland? Are you taking much interest in the debates? That Better Together ad with the fick woman really got the micky taken out of it. Saw some good memes
You know... I'm sick of hearing about it.
It's a great thing, but the bickering is getting unbearable!
By the way, like your Bette avatar. Haven't seen that movie in years.
Although, yes... that BT ad was a hilarious mis-step.
