Ooooh! *is tempted*
The blackbird would be lovely... they have a lovely call... think I've heard it a couple of times here... they sing in the night don't they. It didn't stay.
I'd imagine they have, thrushes? Right? I've never managed to differentiate bird songs from one another.
Today, I met Hacksaw Jim Duggan.
*Googles* Looks like a hefty chap! Where did you meet him?
I've a soft spot for wrestling since watching it as a kid in the 70's...
He and Ted Dibiase were at Glasgow film and comic con this weekend. I went along yesterday.
How cool. Did you have a good time, and what was there?
Yeah. Not as many good panels as past years, but I saw Boba Fett (Jeremy Bulloch), Ted Dibiase and Jim Duggan with Noam somebody and Grado (Scottish wrestler, occasionally in the soap River City.), then there was a Doctor Who panel with all companions... one of whom was Strax.
I got two Kaiju DVD's, three Funko Pops (including Peggy Carter! Hurrah!), a wee Sailor Pluto plushie and a signed photo of Hacksaw Jim Duggan, who was lovely.
Sounds a brilliant day out Had to google most of those, but even I know who Thrax is!!!
It was. Thrax?
It was. Thrax?
I did it again!! Told you I'd gone Gaga
Anyway I know who he is, he's the big egghead one from Dr Who.
*just nod and smile at me*
Well, potato head, but yeah... I got you.
I have my book...
*wibble*
Oooh oooh! Which book?
By the way, what do you think of the Strictly line up this year ?
The Shepherd's Crown... last Discworld book. I'm halfway through it... the crying has been loud and ugly. I'm glad it arrived at the weekend.
as for Strictly, not heard the whole line-up yet... not heard of many of those at that. I think we may be supporting Daniel O'Donnell in this house.
I hear CBB has started? Any actual celebs on it?
Oh of course... must be a very sad feeling
Its not a great CBB lineup. I was actually relieved to see Bobby Davro!
Three news agencies blabbed a major spoiler. I didn't get spoiled, but hearing that there was a spoiler I worked it out fairly fast. Didn't stop the blubbing when I got to it though.
I see Burnside from the Bill is there. Is he any good?
Its so sad. I know how you love TP
Ummm... Burnside has been one of the quieter hms so far. Maybe when the loudies [mainly RLTV veterans ] have gone we'll see more of him.
Thank you.
I guess it would be hard to get a word in with Janice around.
What did you think of the book ? Did TP know it would be his last
Wonderful. The crying at the death and the two or three chapters after wasn't the normal little sniff and a single rolling tear... it was utter devastation. It was nicely handled though, and Death's clear admiration was warming. The conclusion was joyous, the laughs were still there... never far with the Feegles.
Just need to wait a couple of months before the facebook fanpage can chat properly (it's only out in the US tomorrow. We are being nice.. but it's so hard.)
Did you see the articles in the guardian today? Jonathan Jones is a nasty, snobby man.
Ahhh no, shame about the facebook fanpage delay.
Yer man sounds like a salaried troll. Some columnists make their living out of being plain nasty and objectionable. A A Gill comes to mind.
Yes. "I haven't read these, but here's why they're stupid." No...
Most of the comments are just "Night Watch *mic drop*"
I'd never heard of the geezer... nor had most people before now.
So... September is here.... I'm sort of looking forward to Autumn. How about you?
Autumn is favourite. Autumn is Hallowe'en.
Autumn is favourite. Autumn is Hallowe'en.
Uh-huh. You know it
Also... Autumnwatch!
Yeah! And better telly generally, as the nights draw in.
I heard Daniel O'Donnell interviewed on RTE radio... and I'm officially supporting him in Strictly! He's a nice guy and he's cheerfully and uncomplainingly taken an almighty slagging over the years. C'mon wee Daniel!
Yay! This an O'Donnell supporting household for Strictly too.
Most of the better shows in the US are Autumn starters too. So much to loook forward to.
Its fair to say we both have eclectic tastes, eh?
I couldn't help but warm to him, he had a really dry sense of humour in his interview.
Yep Walking Dead, and The Returned [C4 hopefully] for starters this Autumn. Anything you're looking forward to particularly?
I came online yesterday... and my phone alerted me to a Markiplier charity live stream... I got nothing else done. oops.
On the plus side, he went it to relatively unplanned. Made a pledge off the top of his head if he hit target. Instantly regretted it. But, as he's a man of his word, pink haired Markiplier is happening.
I have grown up surrounded by the Daniel O'Donnell fandom. I shall enjoy his inclusion, even if I do groan if made to sit through a video. I do like listening to him speak though, nice gentle accent.
I'm not big on zombies, so no to those two. I think All I have for September is Once Upon a Time, Dark Swan should be interesting... and Sleepy Hollow, which needs to focus more on the Mills sisters this season. Not sure about Agent Carter, that may be mid-season.
Just found out who Markiplier is... thanks Hitch / Google . Culturally I'm about ten years behind *coff*
Yes Daniel is lovely... as long as he doesn't spoil it by singing *nods*. Did you see Strictly last night?
You have some good shows lined up then Oh.... they're not zombies in The Returned - they just show up "alive" when they've supposedly been dead several years. No explanations why... just hints. Its all very mysterious and French. Is it the end of the world? Are the living ones actually dead themselves? Keeps you guessing, almost Lost-like [if I may use that hallowed name].
Oh dear. A lot of things young people do/say on the internet is lost on me. Did you know "thick" doesn't mean stupid to young people? It seems to mean attractive. That may cause multi-generational misunderstandings.
Nope to the singing. *nods* I did see it. Pasha seems to have got the duffer this year. But, new guy Gleb seems interesting.
Somebody's walking around who shouldn't be... so, zombies. *nods*
Do you not have to be all shuffly, cognitively impaired and generally unkempt to be a zombie? These ones are totally normal... and have moved back in with their friends and families. Well until the deluge came and now they're in a hostel on a mountain top, awaiting....something.
Nope. I need to introduce to Constable Reginald Shoe. I think I channel him a little when it comes to zombie things... he's a bit of an undead SJW.
Well I never! I defer to your knowledge on such matters *nods*
SJW = Social Justice Warrior I'm presuming *acts all cool like she knew that and didn't have to look it up*
Yes. It is indeed.
Urban dictionary is the best place to look slang up. Better than google, because sometimes you really don't want that row of images at the top of the screen.
Ooooh quite. My eyes have been defiled enough already, thanks
Yay! Richard E Grant is joining G.O.T!!!
*twirls an unsuspecting Hitch round, in an impromptu happy dance*
He'll be a Greyjoy, I guess... I could picture him as a particularly uncle of Theon's.
I take it you are a fan of his then? *undizzies head*

I am indeed. Oooh that would be good... would like to see more of the Greyjoy clan and the Iron Islands.
As long as they don't mess up Yara. Asha, her name in the books, is the main PoV in the Iron Islands... Like Ariane was meant to be in Dorne... You are probably wondering who that is... because they cut her out and made a weird Jaime plot...
Apparently, he's doing what he should've been doing next season.
