Good solution
My Aunty Lily used to bake apple cakes with 5p and a ring in them [ a brass curtain ring]. It was fun to see who'd get the lucky slice.

I've heard of doing things like that at Christmas. Sixpence in the xmas puds.
Yes it could be related to that tradition. Maybe its just my crazyass family does it with apple cakes.
No sooner have we spoken of uploading halloween pics than the forum has changed + we need to upgrade membership for that. I think I will pay as its only approx ÂĢ15 and I don't know what I'd do without the edit facility as my typos are terrible.
aww boo... bah humbug gagajoyjoy!
Can we still link? or at least put in the text so the other can c&p?
Hang on I'll try inserting a google impage pic to see if it works...
And a link::: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead
Both work!
I didn't know you could upload pics straight from our pc to here anyway [apart from avi pics when editing our profile]. You can still insert images available on the net by C+P'ing the url in the box...Hmmm how to post my halloween pics - possibly upload them somewhere, like photobucket.
You can also post youtube vids etc. Its on the explainy bit up there^^^^
ok, so no real change then. I have a photobucket account, generally how I link to here anyway.
Nice choice of picture.
Thanks thought you'd like it.
My horrible neighbour is gone!!!!! Police broke into her flat yesterday but she'd done a runner Sunday I think [leaving much of her stuff behind]. They reached her on her mobile and told her that if she returned here they would arrest her for mental health sectioning. The landlord is changing the locks apparently.
So thats that - hopefully.
I shall be celebrating a Halloween / Ding dong the Witch is Dead party! Muhaaaaaahahaha!
Yay! I hope your next neighbour is someone good. Let's suggest a good looking chap, with a tendency to forget his shirt?
lol yep that would be good though I'd settle for someone quiet.
Hope your back is doing better.
Quiet is good.
It is a bit, but tonight I shall be sitting in a freezing cold, possibly rainy, Scotstoun Stadium... see how it is after that.
Have you been watching the new Red Dwarf? Wondering what you think?
Oh no, sounds bad for an injured back Hope its not too freezy tonight.
Haven't watched Red Dwarf for ages - new stuff any good?
I got my Tesco delivery, complete with Pumpkin, baking ingredients, food colouring and also a Halloween lucky bag
It is good. Remember the last couple of seasons? Remember how bad they were? Vast improvement. No Holly though, I miss Holly.
Ooh! I forgot to look for a skull cookie cutter. Is your lucky bag good? Have you opened it yet?
Oh aye its got a set of fangs, 2 chews, a dinosaur trading card [?] a spooky colouring book and crayons. Just my level
Think I'll fashion bat and skull cardboard cutouts and just cut the pastry round those.
Enjoy the match and wrap up!
We lost, but I had fun.
Ooh, sounds good.
Glad you enjoyed the match.
Theres an Autumnwatch on Halloween night yay! I remember when MHG dressed in a cravat one Halloween and looked so dashing
Nowt much else on, though FilmFour have a few spooky films on.
Luckily I have a LoveFilm subscription so will probably watch something there to get in the mood. I like creepy scary stuff [Sixth Sense, Let The Right One In, more than gory horror]. Yourself?
Nightmare before Xmas (which includes Vincent and original recipe Frankenweenie) Corpse Bride. Bought some spooky cookie cutters, no skulls... not bad for a ÂĢ1 though.
That'll be good. MHG has a tendency to look dashing. *nods*
I love Tim Burton. Beetlejuice was the first film I went to see twice.
Haven't seen Corpse Bride, will seek it out.
Well done on finding Halloween cookie cutters what shapes are they?
Tim Burton I used to like. He has a tendency to use Johnny Depp (who has played everyone the same for over a decade) and he dared to touch Dark Shadows.
I got a ghost, a cat, a pumpkin, a haunted house, a bat and a grave stone. If you saw Fiona Cairns show on ITV on Sunday, those exact ones.
