That was lucky. 
I always remember my first love - walkman with super bass bought on the early 90's. it was about 50 quid even then!
None of my personal stereos were Walkmans (proper plural... but makes me wince... why can't it be Walkmen?). All I had were cheaper models.
My first mp3 player was an Mpman with a whopping 32mb drive. Could fit on 15 songs if I used a really crappy bit rate.
Oh how impressed we used to be.
I had cheap walkmans in my teens. Later on, when I got a bit of dosh only Sony would do.
I imagine it wont be too long until we are mocking 1Tb hard drives. I've never even seen a 1Tb anything. 
Sony are the be all and end all of audio visual technology, will never understand why people buy products for the name only.
Yes I agree with you there. I've never known anything better then the sound of Sony products, headphones included.
Apple and all that seems like a cult to me 
Apple's av stuff/phones are consistently rated lowly by tech experts... yet people queue up round the block to get the latest ones on release day... it's strange.
I can understand the computers to an extent, less people have them so less viruses are written for them... but at the same time, would that not lead to complacency? I don't understand why they can't just call their PCs "PCs". Microsoft, Linux et al all call theirs PCs, why do apple need to be different?
Also... (My biggest Apple gripe lol) When Apple bring out a feature available on Android phones for years they call it their latest innovation. When an Android maker, like HTC infamously, they hit them with lawsuits.
I love my wee HTC/Android phone by the way.

Oh yes, recently my headphones broke, happens a lot, wear and tear on the wire and what not. "Oh! You must get Beats headphones, the sound is so clear!" Cheapest Beats I saw were ÂĢ80, the hell... I just bought a pair of Skullcandy. They are considered "style over substance" by proper musos... but they were cheap, took the sound to my ears at an acceptable level and were comfy. *nods*

Gone off the footy a bit. After watching the Olympics, they just seem so cosseted overpaid and badly behaved in comparison. Suppose I shouldn't tar them all with the same brush though.
