Going to stay at my Nan and granddads , and being spoilt rotten .

Saturday morning cinema , with chips on the way home .

Yes They were little more than wooden clothes horses , or crates , covered with any old material we could scrounge off our mums  , such as curtains…but we thought they were the bees knees .

Sounds epic - i can imagine at aged ten it was even better

We once played hide and seek using walkie talkies - now that was perhaps the most excited I have ever been as a kid LOL

Walkie-talkies sounds quite flash …best we ever had were plastic cups/cartons and cotton

Playing hide and seek in the derelict army barracks with my brother & sister and several friends...ending up back home in the dining room eating Mum's homemade cake.

Finishing school at 1pm, packing up a cool box, snorkels & flippers into the back of the bondu basher and spending the rest of the day at the beach..

Being chased round the car park by my brother on his chopper bike and if I didn't get caught he'd buy me a 99 ice-cream..

Being Mum and Dad's party entertainment and being rewarded with leftover nibbles and fizzypop..
Brother and I would sing 'Cinderella Rockefella'

We used to pretend our Raleigh Choppers were taxis and run other kids from house to house LOL

Always getting a new outfit at Christmas, dressing up and going to the Officers mess for Christmas lunch, along with other families...Everyone sat at the one long dining table and being waited on...then having Father Christmas arrive with a present for each of us.

My dad was a golfer (handicap of 6). I remember going round Sandyhills with him.

As a youngster, always used to wonder how he knew where to go?

Of course, as we lived in Clydebank, the one that we went to the most was Clydebank Municiple golf course.

My older sister had a tricycle that had a passenger seat. I loved sitting in the back seat being trundled around while she did all the pedaling!

My neighbour had a bogey and it was the most exciting thing to fly down the hill on the back. Planks of wood, string for steering, pram wheels and the snapped off branch from a tree as a brake!

When I started to read that I thought you meant a bogey , as in the nose . But that cart looks cool .
