It's always the bloody weekend though that these things flare up.Oil of cloves if it's a cavity,it tastes foul mind.If it's an abcess(swelling, tender to touch etc) then I'm afraid painkillers and a visit to the dentist is called for.

Can you get to an emergency dentist in the morning Sky? and take painkillers overnight

i have cloves, disgusting, why some people put that in food is beyond me I have had 3 Tramodol, and 4 Co Codomol,,
Oh Skylark I don't like dentists either.... but it's better than being in pain. And be careful with all those painkillers

Oh jeepers, that's heavy stuff. That makes me think there's an infection, but I could be wrong. Dentist as soon as you can I know you don't like them but, anything has to be better than that

Skylark, you can get emergency treatment at the local A & E but it's usually just painkillers - and you seem to have those. You could try swilling your mouth out with warm salt water but oil of cloves is the best stuff.
I also hate the dentist and have two teeth that need attention but my problem is registering with a dentist as they have closed the one at the hospital down. But I understand your aversion. The thing is that tooth problems get worse if you don't sort them out - even if the pain goes away the problem is still there underneath.
Feel better soon - big hugs.

Its a right bugger to be honest , i think the wind started it. I have a chip on my front tooth, a crown..and the cold air got in. Well i have taken my tabs, i may have a good sleep, thanks for letting me moan x
Skylark don't take anything else if you've had all those today.Try NHS 24 and ask if there is an emergency dentist available in your area tomorrow.
Six hours between painkillers in 24 hours.

Och Skylark, I sympathise. We forget how excruciating the pain of toothache is until it hits. It can be really distressing, I hope it subsides enough to let you sleep

It absolutely works - it is like rubbing a sore spot.
I have to admit it's over three years since I've been to the dentist, before that six years. No fillings needed just a bloody good scrape out from the hygeinist to get rid of the tartar build up...so far no pains.Though last year I lost a side bit of a back tooth, though it's so heavilly filled the amalgam will stand up on it's own even if the tooth crumbles away.
Would rather have a baby than toothache - the dentist told me that Ibuprofen was the best to take till a dentist can be seen!
Drop of vodka on the tooth supposed to be good Skylark.

Shame you had a bad night Hopefully you'll feel much better once it is sorted.
Skylark I really feel for you, hope the dental hospital can get you sorted. Dentists can be frightening but toothache is worse!
Sorry to hear you are suffering Skylark. Hope you can get the treatment you need to relieve the pain.

Good luck Skylark :hugs
Hope you get the toothache sorted Skylark....I'm terrified of the dentist myself,I'd go as far as to say I'm phobic. There's so much I'd love to have done, veneers for example, but the very smell of a dentists has me in a blind panic.
If I had to go to the dentist, I'd have to be put out, I panic so much that I doubt I could breathe. I have one tooth that flares up now and again, so I buy the smallest bottle of whiskey available and swish it around the tooth during the evening. All better in the morning.
Edit: sorry skylark, I hope it's all better by now.

Skylark I would rather go to the dentist than suffer toothache I dont think anyone likes the dentist, you can get an injection to calm you down and semi put you to sleep so that you are not aware of what is going on around you,I hope you get it sorted, take care

As the antibiotics get to grips with the abcess the swelling will go down and the pain should lessen. Glad you went Skylark, toothache is awful to bear.
Try and eat some live yoghurt if you like it as it will help protect your gut from the effects of the antibiotics.
