Bad news.
This is from a BBC article:
The 46-year-old former MSP was found guilty of lying during his successful defamation case against the News of the World newspaper in 2006.
He sued after it printed allegations that he was an adulterer who had attended a swingers' club
This is the whole articleBest man at his wedding and he turns him in, bet NOTW coughed up a huge sum for him to do it. I would never turn any of my friends in for any price.
Mind you Sheridan is abit of a pillock to take the NOTW to court, lie and get ÂĢ200,000 in damages
That`ll stop him housebreaking for a while.
If I was in Sheridans position I would be seriously disturbed & paranoid about who my friends are
Tommy has been exposed as a liar and a cheat ,I doubt very much if Gail will continue to stand by him ,rumour has it that he is facing 5 years.
Mc Neilage was paid for a tape of Tommy saying he did attend Cupids.
I don`t know where your hearing your rumours. The sentence is up to the judge, Lord Bracadale. I doubt he`ll disclose anything to anyone before 26th January.

They can be all over the Scottish Parliament and you can write about them all you like. Rumours are just what they are - rumours - not fact.
I don`t know what his sentence will be, nobody does. Only the judge.
I simply replied to your question, thats all.
Minimum sentence is 3 years max 7 years.
Slightly OT but related....
Do we think that the private sex lives of public figures (providing that it hurts no one involved and is consentual) should hold the power to be their downfall ?
After all isn't that at the root of the T Sheridan case. As I see it he dug himself into a hole to avoid the sex allegations facing him.
I ask as I personally think his biggest crime (initially) is having gone to the club without (as far as I know) the knowledge of Gail, which must have been hurtful to her.
But.... had he said 'yes, it's true... sorry Gail.' would the public at large forgive him his being human, or would it have ruined him ?
I'm guessing it would be the end of his career, I just wonder are we more concerned with the private sex lives of others than we should be ? aren't there bigger issues (regarding politicians) that are overlooked and/or forgiven more freely like (for example) war crimes, misuse of public spending etc.
Just wondering (not specific to this case) if the priorities of the public are a little askew ?
Oh and that lamebrain Cable voicing what he might have got away with..i.e putting the brakes on Murdoch if he only had kept schtum...eejit!
Its not the same as your everyday liES.
He should have just held his hands up in the first place and said "so what"
He wanted a whole political movement to lie for him and put them in an unwinnable situation just to save his own hide.
I've no sympathy for him and think he is an arrogant tosspot.
And Lothian and Borders Polis putting it to Gail she was using an IRA technique in staying silent in her interview - feck me!
Foolish move, when he knew they were telling the truth about him.Tommy Sheridan should have just ignored the story or as most peole have said ,just put his hands up and say "So what".
Sheridan quoted the sentences given to other high profile perjurers - former Conservative MPs Jonathan Aitken and Lord Archer.
He said Aitken had been jailed for 18 months while Archer had received four years for two charges of perjury and for perverting the course of justice.
This was compared to Sheridan's own conviction on one charge of perjury, which contained five allegations.
Tommy`s made a valid argument for a lesser sentence. I hope he succeeds.
