tomatoes in cartons!

it's true! napolina peeled plum tomatoes, not in cans but in cartons.
I have just experienced them and have to report the tomatoes are marginally smaller,to ease expelling them from the carton, I suspect, you can't open the carton without anointing yourself in tomato juice, use scissors!

I quite often buy cartoned toms to put in my pasta bakes!

I also buy the cartononed pureed ones with added herbs in Sainsbury's...they are cheaper then the tined ones and already have the herbs and wotnot in!

Although it has to be said I misread the title first and thought this was about tomatoes in cartoons and I couldn't even think of any...though I am sure they must have featured in Scooby Doo at some point.

according to google there was a cartoon version on Attack Of the Killer Tomatoes...maybe I should watch that!

I was in a shop once and thought i heard the shop keeper say "dont touch the tomatoes" but what he had said was " they're dutch tomatoes"

I must ask my husband to look out for them when he next gets the messages. The sachets/cartons take up less space in the cupboard and don't hurt when they fall out on my head.
