Well, you're wrong.  *shrug*

Road to Perdition is not a good film either btw.

I would like to see him expand his range a little.  The everyman, all-American nice guy is fine but great actor it does not make.  Kinda has always looked he has a very strong agent giving hefty advice on appropriate roles.

He played them well tho, and got more roles offered....not for his "looks".."glamour".."Sex Appeal"..

Aye, I agree.  Which is cool

He's got clout though and I just don't think he's used it enough.  George Clooney for example has taken far more risks than our Tom.  And with Clooney's looks and charisma he could have been forgiven for settling into a highly successful career of banality.  He doesn't though.  He crops up in plenty of left field roles.  If only his stuff with the Coen bros.

I just think Tom should take more chances professionally.  God knows he could if he wanted.

Strongly disagree.  George Clooney is a one trick pony and an average actor.. Tom Hanks is far superior in many ways...  I can count the amount of good films Clooney has been in, on the fingers of one hand... Hanks is massively more amazing in many ways, with many many great films under his belt,.  Clooney is a middle aged teenager with an average talent.  And what 'risks' has Clooney taken?  Apart from probably banging a few more birds, without using a condom!

Oh aye, Goodnight And Good Luck.  Forgot about that one.  One of the finest films of the last decade.  He co-wrote and directed that, sunshine.

All the films you have named are average, as is Mr Clooney.

He is not even 'eye candy.'  He is a sad middle aged man philandering as if he is a teenager.  And I know plenty about film, and am a massive film buff...  AND I know not to accuse someone of knowing NOTHING about film, just because they have different views to me;

That's just arrogant and narrow minded.

Just coz YOU worship Mr C; no need for you to berate others who don't fawn over him.......

Seriously, you are never gonna get me to agree with you, because Mr Clooney sucks big time in my opinion...and so do most of his films.... Goodnight, I am off to bed now!

If you think The Thin Red Line is an average film and not a masterpiece then I'm afraid you truly do know nowt.  Soi-disant film buff or not.  You just don't.

What's your opinions on the rest of Malicks ouvre?

I can't possibly have a conversation with someone who is so narrow minded and arrogant that thay accuse me of 'knowing nowt,' just because my opinions and views are different to theirs...

Just accept the fact that not EVERYone is going to agree with you., And you also need to accept that everyone who disagrees is not WRONG...and they can still be a film buff... even if they DO dislike the films YOU like.....

Not EVERYone likes the same things you know...And people aren't stupid because they don't agree with you.. I can't stand George Clooney (and all those films you mentioned are average in my opinion...)  Doesnt make me wrong... or not a big film fan.... it just means I have different views..

So that's the end of this conversation for me, because I can't see the point in continuing it.. with someone so narrow minded that they say I 'know nothing' just because I have different views to them...  I really have to go now.  Bye bye.
