He seems quite "Approachable" and not to "Hollywood".......A normal guy doing a job.....
He succeeds in entertaining me
I really like Tom Hanks - seems a really likeable person and he is one of those people who "gets" the British humour.
I'll always watch a film if he's in it.
Yeah, he's one of the 'good guys'
I like him too .................seems a nice guy and also a very 'versatile' actor. I believe his role in any film.
Tom is an amazing actor and a really versatile one, and on top of that, he is a lovely guy... and very humble. Also he has a solid marriage and has been married about 25 years and he and his wife make a lovely couple... I just hope he doesnt turn out to be one of those revolting men like Ryan Giggs, Mark Owen, Gary Lineker, Ronan Keating etc, who appeared to be lovely men who were loyal and faithful, but were secretly banging strippers/hookers/brainless bimbos/their sister-in-laws, and eff knows who else, for some 10 years or more before anyone found out, and it turns out that this wonderful, happy union was all a load of bollocks.
OMG I thought that was just me! My hubby and kids rave over it, and I thought it was pretty average... very boring script and just, well..... dull
You're welcome Sweet Summer The three Christmas films you mentioned are brilliant!!! I also loved home alone 2, as well as the first one... 3 and 4 werent too good though. I like Deck the halls too with Danny devito, and Christmas with the Kranks... even though they arent 'oscar winning classics.' But the polar express.... never got on board with that...No pun intended...
well, he impresses me, loved him in The Green Mile

He is a really good actor and very likeable.........also loved the Green Mile. Amazing movie in many ways. If you watch that and don't cry, you must have a heart of stone.
I like alot of the films he has done, perhaps not the most popular ones but can't fault him.
Saving Private Ryan (always call it shaving ryans privates)
The Terminal - possibly my favourite... Catherine Zeta Jones was great aswell.
Angels & Demons
Forest Gump
Cast Away

Best character in the film.

I can't imagine Woody with any voice other than that of Tom Hanks. Toy Story rools!

I love Tom Hanks too, but have to say that almost everything I see him in now, he IS Woody... Very good actor.
I liked his earlier films too."The money pit" "Big" and "The Burbs".
I can't watch the green mile, the bit that gets me most is when that evil guard steps on the prisoners wee mouse."Mr.Jingles"...then when we see the wee mouse still alive at the end, that made me cry more than the people getting fried.har! I love rodents.

Me too actually
I like Tom Hanks. Excellent actor and seems like a nice guy.
Not a Big admirer of his work. Of a similar era; I would have to say that I prefer Kevin Costner.
his fave team is the villa and he calls them 'scarlet and blue' instead of 'claret and blue' KEEP UP HANKS
I hope i can watch this on some catch up, i really like Tom Hanks.
What programme was he on? - I'd like to watch it on catch up if I can
The money pitt is the funniest film ever.
I like all his films, and especially That thing you do, where he directed it as well.
Soozy i think he was on here > http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b011w3hz
Decent/good actor IMO though somewhat overrated methinks. Still not done any culture shifting work. Good though.
Bit weird all this, he's such a nice guy, stuff though? From folk who don't know him and have never met him? 4 weeks ago Ryan Giggs was the nicest guy in football.
Not sure that teacher he outed at the Oscars (or was it the Golden Globes?) would have such a glowing endorsement.
I think a few presenters and people who interview him say he is so down to earth and just a normal average guy and not one of the old.."do you know who i am " crowd.
He is cool.
Tell it to his old teacher, lol
Tell it to his old teacher, lol
I bet his teacher loved the mention.
No, I really don't think he did.
