Did you understand any of that, Cupcake?

Every word my darling    I think maybe I should give it another go too. But I struggled with it.  Comparing it to the film I think.  And I loved that.

Now that's where we differ... I found a night to remember quite pedestrian and drab and the Cameron film really good.  It was a multi billion dollar success and was the biggest film of all time til Avatar, so I guess it must have been liked by a lot.  But each to their own.    I know some who though Avatar was shit and some that thought it was great.

I'm not a huge fan of the Leo and Kate film either.....it was nice to look at but the story bugged the heck out of me! As a member of a family who wouldn't be here if one of my direct ancestors had not been too ill to travel on the Titanic, I have always had an interest in her....my Great Grandad started it when I was a toddler and the fascination has never faded...even down to the conspiracy theories!! I even wrote a play about it during my G.C.S.E.s......the Titanic is so much more than a film.

There is also a made for tv mini series about Titanic which is quite good, but I can't remember the name.

The one last night was rubbish I thought, next weeks one looked better from the trailer so I think we will stick with it.

That one will probably be shown over the next few weeks, too, Veggie as they seem to be giving them all an airing to coincide with the anniversary.

I think to me, that is what was great about the film, it showed the human spirit even in the time of great fear.  Makes me cry thinking about it even now.

I liked both of them too, for different reasons.  I loved the James Cameron one as I thought it was sweet, and moving and touching and well acted with brilliant effects, and I like Leo AND Kate.  BUT I also liked "a night to remember" as I like old movies and this was touching and tearjerking.  I do really like them both but I will defo be seeing the 3D Titanic at the flix.

Just because a film makes millions of dollars doesn't actually mean its 'good'. Leonardo Di Caprio was at the height of Tweenie Fandom, so millions of them flooded the theatres to see their pash on the big screen.

In fact Leo has come out to say that he wish he had never accepted the role of...whoever he played (can't remember it), and some members of the Academy Awards admitted that it shouldn't have won as money Oscars as it did.

Of course, each to their own and that but my point is the movie Titanic is shite and thats a fact

P.S I was not aware of a TV series but have noticed its on ITV so its bound to be shite too.

Rawky-Roo

I thought the new series was a pile of shoite - it was awful.  Terrible dialogue, modern phrases and language used that wouldn't have been around at that time.  I find it hard to believe that Vile Vera's character would have spoken to Lady wotsherface the way she did.

I live in hope that Mr Murdoch is not besmirched the way he was in the equally awful Titanic with Leo & Kate but judging by the first episode, I won't hold my breath.  I also feel this new series has been made to pander to the American audience which for me is always a bad thing as it's usually dumbed down entertainment

The tv proggie was quite poor.  I am surprised at how virtually everyone on here seems to hate the James Cameron film though.    It was actually good.  I am quite puzzled.  I must admit that I have never heard anyone say that people at the film academy say it shouldn't have got so many oscars either.  (as Rawky said.)
