I know....Master Cinds was Thomas mad as a child, and I love that I can afford all of the Thomas things I couldn't when he was little for the grandboy.

I'm starting on my little boys - telling them they've got to stay in their own beds all night as santa and his helpers are out looking etc. But ...........the Christmas DVD's don't go on until Dec 1st!

I love this time of year too but it's not the same when you haven't got little kids  i've bought a few stocking presents for daughter but not anything big yet as her demands list keeps changing  so i'll carry on saving until she decides exactly what it is she wants

She has asked for a new camera, she has a digital camera but she say's everyone has the big black ones now, i have no idea about them so i'll have to do some research

Christmas day used too be horrible when she was younger though as she used to spend one year with her dad and his family and the next with me but as she got older she decided to just go in the morning for an hour or two and then goes after lunch on Boxing day

Christmas tree goes up on the 1st

Aimee

OK, we now have EVERYTHING for Christmas (excluding pressies!)  We spend 6 hours out yesterday!!  We got ALL the booze and frozen food, and savouries and tins of sweets and Christmas crackers, and cakes and stuff; some boxes of biccies and all the nuts and everything!  Prob spent more than we should.    Just need to get mince pies, fresh cream, some trifles and cheeses and the fresh veg and stuff like that nearer to the time (like 15 december-ish)

Lol Cupcake, you are early with your shopping but nothing beats sitting at home in the run up to Xmas with the snow falling and just knowing you don't have to join the mad scramble in town to go get your shopping

Sweet....it was last night that the lights were switched on, have to say it was a little dissappointing for the kids coz the crowds were massive so we didn't get over to where Santa arrived but instead round the corner watching it on the big screen in the pissing rain   They still enjoyed it though so it wasn't too bad.

Ells

Hi Ells..   yes we did get it all earlyish lol.. but what it was, we went out over the weekend and LOADS of stuff seemed to be 'on offer' and so we came back out on Monday and just went to tesco sainsburys and asda over 5 or 6 hours and just got almost everything...  Still got about 70% of the pressies to get though... Got hardly anything yet!

FM

I've got NOTHING in yet lol.  Not even one wee pressie.  I had to pay off my holiday deposit this week so thought I'd do that first then focus on xmas so I think we're going to go to the toy shop on Saturday and get most of the 'Santa' stuff there.  Then I still have a few different types of shopping to do.  Other peoples pressies shopping, food shopping and the worst of them all......clothes shopping *pulls hair out*  last year I did most of that online and had to return loads of it so this year it's all going to have to be in-town shopping.

Ells

Just home from shopping and I'm not happy with what I've got.  Or rather what I haven't got.  There just didn't seem to be a great selection of boys toys to buy this year.  I have only got about half of the stuff I wanted for my boys (although it's the more expensive half so that's good) so I'll need to trawl the internet now to find stuff that they'd be interested in!

And I took the OH with me and he took forever in the barbers, then needed something to eat, then wanted to leave some stuff home before continuing took up a good part of my shopping time.

But apart from that that's me started!

Ells

I admire all the enthusiasm here, but I really can't sustain that level and intensity of excitement over one holiday period. I think it's got something to do with volunteering to cater for 20 on Christmas Day that means I'm containing my energy and waiting to be excited when it actually gets here

(I've done myself a favour this year though and bought every single present off the internet, the majority of which are stashed in my parents spare room).

I have but ..............can't remember what I've done with them. And I just know that when I finally get the deccies out they'll be a couple of boxes of cards from last year that I didn't use - happens every year.

i really should organise myself a bit better!

Soozy Woo

I've done it.  You can all call me sad, I don't care!  It's done now and I'm happy.

I'VE PUT MY TREE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks good too, have just done the tree and fireplace and will do the window during the week coz I was missing a few bits and pieces when I got all my stuff out, must have thrown them out last year.

Kids are well chuffed, living room is lovely and cosy and now it's time to put the feet up with a few drinks
