I've been unemployed for a few years now after working part time after separating from my daughters dad and ill health meant I couldn't work. Been sending out CVs and getting nothing back, so I got sent on a work programme from the job centre (they pick or you find your own, got to be something good for the community) so I went into a local charity shop (never been in one in my life) and they said yes
So I started in August, fell down the stairs in September needed time off due to my injuries went back to my 30 hrs a week and love it, met some lovely new friends (staff about 30) it's a big store in a great position and we sell furniture and electricas (cookers etc)
We was all told at the beginning by the job centre that we wouldn't be taken on as these are voluntary positions, the manager called me into her office last week and said they would like to try and keep me so would like to train me as an assistant manager, I've now got the keys to the shop and safe and I'm the assistant manager two weeks today as a test, I'm so chuffed with myself I've really worked hard for this chance and it's paid off pooing my pants about being left in charge though
