Try not to worry Aims, I'm sure she'll be fine
Ditto what Damesy says Aims. She'll be looked after
I know it's just a mum thing and she's doing my head in with what to pack, she's allowed 15kg but the case will weigh about 50kg by the time she's finished and it's ME thats got to pack
Sort her out Aims with a firm hand!
Oooooooooooh the packing thing is hard. Letting her go is harder still! I'm sure she'll have a wonderful time and it'll be a great experience for her. I know you'll worry ...........I know it'll be hard for you. But - be proud - you've raised a great girl. What a great opportunity for her - it will change her life!

Aims, you do not ever stop worrying about them...my three daughters are a lot older than Aimee jnr
Oh Aims, I keep meaning to ask my (very well travelled/adventurous/intrepidus,) niece about this to reassure you. She went there last summer, had an amazing time and was as safe as houses away from the tourist 'hot-spots.'
I was just bloody thankful that she went there rather than Syria and Lebannon tbh, which was her original plan!
I'll try and post you the pics via my rl fb ac and my forum one!
Gambia.
March.
She's one step ahead

There you go Aims....from the horses mouth (so to speak.....soz Supes) (no offence meant)
Aims all I can compare to is when I sent Master Cinds off to Barcelona with the school, I was in bits worrying, but he was fine. Try not to worry, she's a big girl she'll be OK

Thank you Sooz, girls are such a worry, i never gave my parents any worries
The packing is a nightmare, i pack and then she changes her mind and takes everything back out again and then when i re pack half of the stuff is mine

Ah, but it could be the making of her Aims. She sounds like a v v sensible, focused girl and if she was going to go seriously astray, think she would have done so by now...in my experience

she's already done Barcelona and Paris and i didn't really worry then, this time i think it's cause it's so far away and the health issues

I'm not worried about her going astray just her safety, her boyfriend has just won a place with Notts County after school, she could marry the next David Beckham

As long as she's had her vaccs and everything is up to date she should be fine, a number of peeps on here have already told you she seems a sensible girl *adds name to that list*
Try not to worry Aimee I'm sure she will have a great time....
Easier said than done
You have to understand she has her own life now and be pleased and proud that she is going to do something that will help others.

Have you made some plans for yourself? You have to start looking out for you now Aims .......contact some old mates or something - treat yourself to something special.

it has nothing to do with her having her own life she has always had a life away from me, this is concern for her welfare, i would feel the same for anyone i loved

OOps. Didn't mean it to like like that Aimee. I know you will be worried but she is doing good for people that are not as fortunate as us. I am sure you will be proud and relieved when she gets home.

Well, that I would worry about!
Seriously, my niece had a fabulous time, met loads of really interesting 'locals' and went to some amazing, beautiful places. When she said that she was going there, I could hardly believe it, because I just had a scene in my head of the 'touristy' places that I'd seen on the tele' with silly white women being taken in by the local men. Shame on me!

Of course
