Grumpy Cat, known for her miserable facial expression, has nearly one million likes on her official Facebook page and last week won 'Meme of the Year' at the 2013 Webby Awards, beating 'Gangnam Style', the Harlem Shake and goats yelling like humans.
Deadline reports that the movie deal will see Todd Garner and Sean Robins of Broken Roads working to develop the possible film which would give Grumpy Cat a voice.
The project has been likened to Garfield.
In March, Grumpy Cat attracted lines of thousands of people at SXSWi in Austin. Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder met the pet at the event, tweeting: "This cat is kind of amazing..."
