I thought the acting was good and I love the guy who played Combo was it?  The scouse bloke. Seen him in loads of stuff and he is a really good actor.  The wee lad I thought was good too and so cute
Funny looking lad isn't he, but cute like you say. Combo was good in it, think he's been in Snatch or something like that. *runs off to google it*

I wasn't too impressed, it was played for laughs but had its moments.  I don't think the characters in this series were racists in the film, although some tagged along IIRC.

I don't think the characters will be racists in the series either as the series seems lighter than the film.  IIRC the National Front was a spent force by 1986.

I'll watch again as first episodes do suffer from setting the scene and characters personalities out.  I do agree that with only four episodes it barely gives it a chance to start before it's finished.

Reminded me of the sort of drama C4 used to air in the 80s, I suppose some of its appeal is a nostalgia trip for people of a certain age who remember the 1980s for the miners' strike and aimlessness of unemployment particularly in the North rather than big shoulder pads and footballers with mullets.

I'm beginning to wonder if she's German at all Karma. There isn't a German in the world who would move to another country and dare to even mention the R word.

WTF!!  i think Cologne as a resident here is perfectly entitled to comment on the racism and other negative things about Britain as much as she likes....why are people so miffed that she dares

I feel entitled to comment on any other nation's abuses despite the fact that Britain has a past history that would shame even Hitler,..I don't see why people born outside the country should not be awarded the same freedom to do the same as me.
DanceSettee
Fair enough DanceSettee but Cologne did state that watching the show was watching a bunch of racists, which I don't think is true.  I'm pretty sure the characters in the series are 'the nice guys' and nice non-racist skinheads.  In the 80s there was always a sub-group of left wing leaning skinheads that were very anti-racist but certainly the look was and is mainly associated with racism.

I agree Dance , well said. Plus Cologne is German and has lived here and paid her taxes for many years, she is entitled to her opinion. This programme is a follow on from the film, which was very racist and fascist
