I have never read Stephen King. I did however read my first James Herbert recently - The Ghost Of Sleath..... I was most cross by the ending.

That's an incredible book, really amazing, back when he was 'good'. If you haven't read The Long Walk (a short story he wrote as Richard Bachman) you should seek it out it's pure genius.I didn't see the mini-series but I've seen the movie which I thought was excellent too but not as good as the book (obviously).
I would just like to point out that my fake flounce got more replies than Poolsharks actual flounce which means that fake flounces are definitely the way forward . You even get people erroneously hating Chelsea and talking about Gone With The Wind and asking for mushy peas.

Thinner was released on its own I think. Great book and good film too. The Long Walk was released as a novella but was also in The Bachman Books and is, to my mind, the best thing he's ever written apart from The Stand and Misery. Incredible vision of how the future may well turn out if American gameshows continue their steady decline into desperation.Reference:

The scenario is scarier than anything that happens...it sets your head spinning into 'what if' territory...i thoroughly recommend it.

OMG I loved that book but don't know of a mini series, I remember the movie they made and I found all the charactors were the same as my minds eye apart from Harold, Harold was fat and spotty in the book but was Rob Low in the movie....Reference:
