I think both have it's good and bad points.

I do miss the humour of Channel 4 forums though and the influx of new people all the time.  Even the trolls were quite funny.

However the mods on C4 were turtelly inconsistent and unpredictable.

I like it here, threads don't move at 100 miles a hour and it feels cosier. I post on DS as well and don't find it as welcoming.

I miss BBOT and the midnight rush when GF was shut down and the hoard arrived. Those were the days

I much prefer this place.
I think the GaGaJoyJoy people who watch over us from Seattle have been great.
Very fair, but firm when necessary.
I enjoy their integration with posters.
This place just "feels" so comfortable, and there are some lovely people here.


About the ignore button. If you right click on the little gingerbread man next to a name the box which opens shows an option to "blacklist" that posters.
I may be wrong, but I assume that is the equivalent to "ignore."

I completely agree, Brisket.  I much prefer the size of this forum to C4; it's busy enough for there always to be people around, but small enough so that the odd troll stands out like a sore thumb.  There are a few people I miss from C4, but if they wanted to still use forums they would have found their way here eventually.

I think the blacklist on here, merely prevents dialogues.

There is no ignore function, but I prefer the point and laugh method, anyway!

Oh well, at least I've prevented someone having a dialogue with me. Whatever the feck that is!

re. the non-existent HM called "Martin".

I liked C4 Forum, because it was the first one I joined and it was very busy, although the mods were arbitrary and I felt the weight of the banstick a couple of times. However, now having settled into this one, I prefer it, much nicer all round.
