It was wonderful -the crowd was so happy and we all believed in the fairy tale marriage - well who wouldn't at 17..

I still have the scrap book and all the papers that I collected about the Royal wedding.. I even have the Ladybird book that was written about it.

Would have pissed me off an all to be fair.

Why were you at school...everyone else got a day off?

We didn't. We were at school watching it in the classrooms.

Nothing like this?  I really don't get the vicarious joy that I'm supposed to feel about two very mollycoddled people wallowing in unearned ostentatious privilege.  It doesn't lift my spirits at all because it is a total irrelevance to my life and I resent the assumption that I'm supposed to fawn over a throwback to feudalism. Why should I?  What the hell have the royals done for me? It reminds me of the hypocrisy of our country where people really struggle in hard times and reduced to penury when there's always money to chuck at establishment figureheads.  This adds insult to injury.

Why not just watch a soap wedding or Jordan's next wedding?  At least Jordan's earned her money and didn't get rich by just being born.  Maybe your favourite pop star or movie actor is getting wed?

It's amazing the shags money and privilege can get you .. as Peter Crouch knows all too well.

I have no problem with them getting married or with people getting into the whole party wotsit if that's what they want. I'm even mildly interested in the dress but 20 seconds should satisfy THAT aspect. What's bugging me is the fact that he rest of us seem to have no bloody choice about having it rammed down our throats - and haven't for the last few weeks. Eight hours of coverage? EIGHT HOURS?!! My own effing wedding didn't last as long (although the next 10 years felt like lifetime).

So wedding or crap western? Great scheduling.  Roll on a decent book and a few glasses of something rich and red (aside from Harry that is...)

If only England was like that!  People in the south east of England do what Rupert Murdoch tells them.

The anti establishment trait in the British character is something to be proud of, not sneer at.

Yeah, and?  Is their life really that empty that it needs to see two people get married?  Don't they watch the soaps or have in-laws?

 People love weddings.

I always get a warm feeling, if I drive past a wedding party.

It's a public declaration of love that wouldn't get you chucked out of a pub in Soho!

I have to agree about the media, though.

They know how to put you off watching something!

People watch what they want to watch. You can't blame the couple because the media decide to act like idiots and try to ram it down everybody's throats. They already have Kate lined up as the new Diana and they will fill up magazines with everything about her. But like I said I will watch what I want and turn off when I have had enough.

So far I haven't watched or read anything about it because I choose not to. In fact I thought the wedding was tomorrow until my hubby put me right

I'm not even being secret about it. I'm looking forward to it.

I don't know why people go on about the media so much. If it's in your newspaper...turn the page. If it's on telly...choose another channel. If it's in the shops it's not gonna jump off the shelf into your trolley and make you buy it.

I just hope that all the people I've heard over the last few weeks (not only on here) moaning about it are gonna volunteer to work that day so that their colleagues who do want to watch it can have the day off

Eh?! Is is tomorrow I'd get there early if you're watching the procession.

Eh?!

Just in case anyone actually believes it is tomorrow and sets up their tent and all that gubbins, you'll be camping for a week
