when i fall asleep on the settee and the dog starts barking, i jump out of my skin

 me too!

I went to the pictures with hubby last night - first time I've been in a 3D film ....he was threatening to move seats before the adverts were finished

  My grandson hid behind his bedroom door the other day, and jumped out at me when I went to wake him up..... of course I  yelled out loud in fright.... which made him jump and yell too

I'm the same Ducky.  My nieces come into my house and I am completely unaware they are there until they speak.  And then of course I jump out of my skin.  They think its hilarious.

My daughter seems to find it highly amusing to come home after work, and instead of announcing clearly at the front door "I'm home".........creeps (although she is normally heavy footed) up behind me at the sink (which is where I am normally stood, or bending down over the oven (don't ask)..)..

and whispers "Hellooooooooooooo"......

I am sure she is trying to kill me off!

(That description in the typed word, no way describes the agitation she causes me)

Yes, just before I nod off I jump as if I am falling from something

My son walks in the room and I jump. He says  "Mum, I live here"  

I'm sure there must be something behind the 'jumping' in your sleep  it scares me TBH 

^This^ my daughter does this all the time too me, she find's it VERY funny

it scares the life out of me too, think it's mean't too be that there's something on your mind 

Trouble is "Here" is where we live...........they just pop in to "Make us JUMP"  whenever they feel like it 

Ah, that would be right then. I've got a million and one things on my mind

  Rotters!  I was thinking about a door bell warning system..but thought again... cos that would make me JUMP!  

Even someone posting something through the letter box makes me jump  or if the phone ring's late at night and then you all look at each other and say who's that ringing at this time at night 

That doesn't make me so much jump as worry.Why would peeps be ringing this time o night?

Me too .............I'm slightly deaf in one ear so if I'm in the kitchen or bathroom and my husband suddenly appears I scream. i don't hear him aPPROACHING and it scares the bejesus out of me- he thinks I'm mental (he may well be right).

I am that lady though!  Everything and anything makes me jump!

Why is it,  when I am alone in the house,  and in the loo, or in the bath........all hell breaks out?....My doorbell goes, my letterbox clatters, Is somebody climbing through my living room window that is open?..........

I would'nt put anybody else through that kind of stress......would you? 

Doesn't make me jump, but when I've been watching a 'haunted thing' on telly, you've never seen me run up those stairs as quick to bed    And I like to play the 'brave' woman

I've got a stray black cat that live's in my back garden and i have a 6ft gate that seperates the front from the back and he jumps through the gate every time i'm near the window, sh-it's the life out of me everytime, i do go out and tell him he's a little sh-t 

That's another one  my daughter has a mirror opposite her bed and eveytime i make it i jump cause i think there's a bloke standing behind me (it's 1 of those out of JLS on her wall)  it's also frightened her as well though 

I've only once been really scared in this house on my own since mam died. I saw a shadow on the window and was really paniced. (sp) I didn't know what to do..........eventually I stealed myself to go outside...It was only the bloody fellah next door watering his hanging baskets 

But, But....If she has a poster of JLS......she should be making her own bed..
