There has been some discussion during this series (as usual) about hiding stuff (usually food), keeping a private store rather than sharing, and deliberately and knowingly stealing.
Now some are saying "there is no proof" so there should be no accusations or assumptions.
Does this mean that the only way `to catch a thief` is to catch them red-handed? This would be unlikely.
So the thefts continue....
BB would not intervene if it was just a theft of food, and so it goes on..
From his whispered conversation with Lisa and his over-reaction when in denial, I think David has taken what is not his by agreement.
We know that Charlie (and Kris) have stolen and stored lager for themselves.

Can anybody remember cases of theft in previous series` of Big Brother?
Can you recall if someone has regularly got away with it?
Can you recall if a housemate has been caught red-handed?
Or can you recall if the culprit has been cleverly tracked down?

It happens every series, I think.

And while it's not quite theft I remember one night Craig making a huge pan of spag bol one night for just him and Anthony. He used the full pack of mince plus the veg and tomatoes...he boiled a load of spaghetti...then they had a small bowl each and just left it...it all got wasted.

That's dead selfish, it was just a night time snack...he could have just used a bit of seasoning, spaghetti and tomatoes.

They do it every year though, half of them look like they've never had to cope with budgeting, rationing and being fair in their lives.

Yes, and very anti smoking!

I can remember feeling very annoyed for the smokers (being one myself!) Big Grin
I used to be annoyed in older BBs when smokers would smoke everywhere. Even in the bedroom. Really inconsiderate of the non smokers.

I suppose in a place like that, where things you can call your own are limited, you'd get very territorial about your shopping.

But back to the OP - we, the viewers usually get to see if someone is stealing things, and in this case as we have not seen it, (even Bea herself had not seen it, nor Freddie or Marcus) then it isn't for us to say it has definitely happened.

It was just Marcus, knowing how important the food is to everyone, using it to stir up trouble for David as he had forgotten his place in the house and needed to be clipped back in line.

Yes that was what I was talking about...that was terrible wasnt it.

BB ALL the food.

Everyone..but we havent got any more.

Carole trots back off to another stash.

Speculate by all means, there isn't much else to do in there, but to actually make someone feel guilty for eating their own food is out of order IMO

at the start of this series Sophie saw Sophia's can of drink ~ sitting there ~ undrunk~ while Sophia was there ~unpacking her suitcase

Sophie ~ urged Charlie to go over and distract her ~~so that she could then go over and steal it
She followed and SNEAKILY Grabbed the can
and took it back to her bed area ~ Glance

BUT SOPHIA NOTICED IT WAS GONE ~ STRAIGHT AWAY Clapping
and realised who had been hovering near her Glance moments earlier
and Sophie said [ in her innocent voice ]
Devil it was just a joke Devil

Thats all he did though was discuss it with someone he trusted. It was someone else who confronted David with it.

We had a food thief at work and had strong suspicions (like Freddie) as to who the culprit was. The food usually disappeared before first break and one of the cleaners was often seen cleaning the break room at this time. He had even been challenged about removing someones food from the fridge but had the excuse 'I thought it was left from yesterday, I was just clearing it out' I got tired of losing food and started to spike food with laxatives and leave it there! I hope it gave him the squits!
Some people thought we were unfair to suspect this man 'just on a feeling' but funnily enough , once he left, food theft stopped!

Come on now! Freddie is either highly intelligent or thick as shite? You can't have it both ways.
He knew if it was mentioned to Bea that she would bring it up, even a 5 year old knows that! Laugh

Hehe we did this at one place I worked too. I say we it wasnt me but a friend got fed up of someone taking his drink from the fridge and laced it with really strong laxative. We never did find out who it was but the drink was never stolen again Big Grin.

He was talking to Marcus about it not Bea. You can be intelligent and not know a thing about a person. He thought Bea might fancy him for a start. I also dont remember speculating on his intelligence or otherwise.

Marcus and Freddie told Bea about it in the kitchen actually.
I apologise, I seem to have lumped you in with all the Freddie supporters who think he can do no wrong and is highly intelligent, hence my words above.

ONE night? He did a fry up every night for Anthony. Nearly set the house on fire one night when they fell asleep and BB had to ask a number of times for someone to come to the DR to turn the oven off.

That was what made the whole science food thing so unpalatable for me. When all he wanted was some fish fingers.

I dont think BB recruit genuine sharing kind of people. Those people get trampled very early on in the auditioning process.

I think by their very nature, you'd have to be a self absorbed, deluded, nasty and selfish person to want to even be on BB
