It's not an Irish accent at all. His mother lives in the USA and his accent is what may best be called mid-Atlantic...whether this is genuine or pretension I have no idea, but he does say various words the US way rather than the British way

He does have West Country in there too....At this stage it doesn't matter anyway. We'll find out soon enought. But that is one crazy mixed up accent.We should start taking bets on it.
