I think, but I'm not sure, that they appeared in the 1960s in our town......my mum would take me there for a treat after the cinema.....now I relise that it was only because she didn't want to cook. I did the same with my daughter with Maccy Ds. There's a couple of services on the M1 that still have Wimpys in them and they were running alongside maccyDs in the eighties and the one in Walton on Thames only closed about eight or nine years ago(lol)

were they? we called them kickers, you had to have them to be cool, so i was cool for about 4 months, then i realised i'd rather go back to being a loser.
They called them that around here because they had thick soles.....I still like Kickers in the winterx

I was where it was it was at, I went to the Wimpy bar on a Saturday, and I bought a meal and a drink, not just a coffee all you losers that didn't buy a meal I ate my crappy curled sausage with pride, albeit dunked in a lot of lot of sauce. Bring back the "Brick" mobiles Stuff is getting that small these days- we need magnifying glasses and small thumbs to use them
