Have to defend myself and my fellow ladies here.  Mr Bubbles does NOTHING for me, and my 2 best mates who are also 40-ish don't get it either.    He is a nice chap and fairly decent looking, but I don't get why women rave over him so much..  It's like George Clooney does nowt for me either... he looks so old and not particularly great imo.  He's a 5 out of 10 imo and Mr B is a 7.

Really do not like his music either.  It's not a genre of music that I like at all.  It's soooooo boring. I do tend to switch off when I hear him come on the radio.

Thought he seemed a bit tipsy on stage too.  Or did I imagine that?  And yes he has gone a bit 'cuddly...'

LITTLE MIX TO WIN, but I am sad Amelia has gone... Really don't want Marcus to win: he is nice and cute and can sing OK, but he is a bit pedestrian, and a bit of a one trick pony imo.

Errr yes.

The public decided that they preferred the other two.

WHAT a scandal!

She was outsang and out classed by Kelly Rowland.

She wasn't outclassed by Kelly at all, I thought they were great in their duet, probably the better of the 3 duests.

But seriously, how did Marcus get the votes to go into the final night?  yet again nicey nice, safe acts do well on the X Factor.

Just because the other two acts were voted through ahead of Amelia doesn't make the decision correct.

BTW, Marcus was outclassed by Gary in their duet, would you like to discuss that.?

It's nothing to do with being "nicey nice" - were that the case, Johnny would still be in.

Amelia just is not as good as people think she is - just listen to the Christina version of her first song - wealth of difference in quality and tone,

I agree with you - Marcus was completely outclassed by Gary - you seem to think that because I am not an Amelia fan, it follows that I must be a fan of Marcus. Marcus is a nice lad but he is boring IMO.

And Amelia is not "edgy" or "different" or rebellious at all - so I am not sure where you get that idea from.

If there were any justice, Craig would be in the final anyway..

Indeed! There is a good deal of alternative material to watch and I have lost interest.

Now that the dust has settled, I wonder if there was something a bit too smug about the Amelia intro. We had the fee paying school, middle class suburb, exotic food, and the ability to sell out the local big nightclub at the drop of a hat.

Perhaps if they had taken a leaf out of Marcus' team and come up with some sorta human interest shieght they'd still be in the running.

I think part of the problem was Amelia's facial expressions - it may have been just nerves so really she could not help it  BUT she looked very sullen at times.... not good if you want the audience to like you

I agree. Time for her to get out the Amy Winehouse DVDs and study, study, study.

I still think she was hurt by being 'brought back' instead of going through in the beginning when she should have, that and the HMV faux pas fed all the mental 'fix' paranoia that abounds and I'm sure cost her a lot votesl

Yes but Joe -there is a difference. Amy Winehouse was original and talented - I have yet to see any spark of originality in Amelia - this is a talent show for the poplace - Amy Winehouse wrote wonderful music about her own life experiences.

I am afraid the two cannot be compared - Amelia looks sullen.

If Amy had been a contestant on X Factor tho, she would have been a sullen, tattooed teenager with awful hair singing Abba songs...... and some people would have written her off as a screechy, shouty karaoke singer

Ah but you see Amy had no need to go on the X factor - that is the whole point,

I cannot seriously believe you are comparing Amy to Amelia Lily - there is no comparison

Of course I'm not comparing them (other than they're both sullen, but one is loved and one isn't)    I'm only commenting that no matter who goes on X Factor they will be knocked - imo it's a shame that some of them do get through because i'm sure some might have better careers if they don't get caught up in the machine that builds them up, chews them up then spits them out again.     No, Amy didn't need to go on X Factor, she was lucky.    She was hugely talented and she got a break, as nice as it would be to think that such talent always get's that break, it's not the case.. I'm sure there a few more Amy's around that just get overlooked.    It's nice romantic, but imo foolish notion that talent will always 'make it'.  Some kids think the X Factor is the way forward - I suppose it worked for Leona Lewis and JLS,

I agree.  But I am glad she hasn't won Kaffy.  Amelia IMO is a real raw talent and really does have the X Factor.  She is also is budding rock star.  If she had won, Cowell and his cronies would have turned into Leona frigging Lewis.  This way (coming third,) she can get away and do her own thing, like JLS did, and Olly Murs.  If Marcus or Little Mix win, it won't be so bad: marcus is kind of cheesy anyway - in a good way and I do like him, and Little Mix will end up a manufactured girl band which is pretty much what they are.  I DO want Little Mix to win.

Comparing Amy W to Amelia is a bit pointless tbh: they are SO different. And who says Amy was better than Amelia?  it's a matter of opinion.  And just coz someone doesnt write their own stuff, does not make them less talented.  Many massively successful and talented singers do not write songs.

I wish I hadn't mentioned Amy Winehouse now  She was mentioned in another thread.

I was seeking evidence to prove that being sullen isn't a barrier to success. There are plenty of examples within the media.

On the other hand Amy Winehouse did progress through several showbiz schools from a very early age.

We can't compete with that. We may have taste and cuisine up here, but we don't have many stage schools.

Well, there is one v v obvious difference!

Amelia, I understand, is writing some of her own material, let's hope that she never, ever, has the kind of 'life-experiences' Amy had to write about

So the fact that she could actually sing bloody well didn't matter then?  just because shes not a grinning idiot was her downfall.?

If that is true then I hope this is the last ever X Factor.

Im not saying you are a Marcus fan, but im pointing out that out of the 3 acts Marcus was the worst of the 3.

Amelia out of those 3 has the original meaning of the phrase "X Factor"  she is different, she has her own style, she has a powerful voice and can sing rock or pop, in other words shes not a one trick pony.

Craig was a decent singer but by no means has the X Factor.

She could sing in YOUR opinion.

I am allowed to disagree Vids.

She does not have her own style - she is a mishmash of Christina versus Kelly Clarkson,

BUT to be fair - none of them really have their own style - that is the point of the programme - to produce a mediocre commercial success.
