Cheryl Cole has reportedly banned Cher Lloyd from changing her stage name to Cher-L because it is too similar to her own.

Programme bosses apparently want Lloyd to adopt an "edgier" one-word moniker but cannot use Lloyd's first name because it is already taken by the famous 'Shoop Shoop Song' singer.

However, Cole had to step in when it was suggested that Lloyd attach the first letter of her surname to make 'Cher-L', according to The Sun.

A source said: "Cher has already been called a mini-Cheryl and now she could end up with almost the same name.

"X Factor chiefs want Cher to change her name after the show to give her something a bit edgier and more fitting to her image. They don't like her having two names and think she should have something a bit different.

"She can't be known as Cher so the idea of Cher-L came up - but her mentor didn't like it as it was so similar to her own name. Cher loves Cheryl and values her input and ideas but it doesn't look like she'll get her way on this one."

Bookmakers recently slashed the odds of Lloyd winning this series of the ITV singing competition after her celebrated performance of Shakespeare's Sister's 'Stay' on Saturday's live show.

Katie Waissel is reportedly refusing to rehearse her song for Saturday night’s show, believing that her mentor has chosen badly for her.

The 24 year old found herself in the sing-off for the second time last Sunday night and believes the songs Cheryl Cole is giving her, are not helping her connect with the public. It’s nothing to do with the negative press and her fame hungry ways at all!

‘She doesn’t like to rehearse,’ a source told Metro. ‘She won’t sing the song they give her, either. Right now, Katie is refusing to practise at all and says she would just prefer to go on stage and sing a song first pop.”

Italian-born Nicolo Festa has said that he is ready to move on from the X Factor.

The 21-year-old, who was axed in the first week of the live shows, posted on Twitter about his experiences of filming the video for the X Factor 'Heroes' charity single.

Sounding unimpressed by the whole event, he wrote: "Sorry I didn't tweet yesterday, I was at the X Factor video shoot from 7am till midnight. Done enough charity for this life and my next one."

Alluding to remarks he previously made on Twitter about the way he was portrayed in the early stages of the show, he added: "I don't sing on the video. I just stupidly open my mouth...Good riddance! I was lucky enough for having escaped a lawsuit at bootcamp."

Robert Plant: By Myself

Robert Plant has been performing and recording for more than 40 years. For 12 of those, he was the front man for what many still consider to be the greatest rock band ever - Led Zeppelin. BBC 2 Sat 10.15  presents a rare opportunity to hear what the man himself has to say about a life spent in music: from his earliest days as a school kid in Stourbridge to the world domination of Led Zeppelin, which ended when he was only 32 years old. The programme also looks at his triumphant solo career with bands such as The Strange Sensation and his startling collaboration with country singer

Reference: I agree ,Adam was my winner that year. He was my winner too. Why do the boring ones always win?

I loved Adam Lambert too, but I thought on the night, Kris performed better overall and deserved to win.  I loved his version of No boundaries.   But I wanted Danny Gokey to win right from the start.
