Well know who the chosen one is next week when we hear the winners song...cos its always one that it very much tailored for one particular chosen act.
what was Simon on about, mary's interview on ITV? what did she say then?!!
Cosi, TBH, she looks a bit younger than that to me.

You're kidding? She can't only be 50 surely?

Cher really does go over the top, but I wonder if she has special needs?
They do say those ASBO tags take their toll..
Mary gave it her all tonight and her singoff song was probably her best performance BUT it still wasn't in Cher's league...Cher was stunning tonight.
If Cher really was so arrogant and cocky then why is she crying her eyes out, this has shaken her tonight....arrogant people dont react like that.

I had her at late 50's - not only in looks but demeanour/mannerisms.

Had to watch as my son thinks Cher is "fit" I think at this stage it should go to the public vote. Cher looks high maintenance with an attitude, not liking her one bit. Mary looked ready to burst, wonder what was going on backstage ?
see you all later then..off to find a book to help me over this!

The X Factor

Britain has been voting over the last 24 hours and now the semi-finalists find out the result of the public vote. The act with the fewest votes will leave the competition, and the others will compete in next week's final. Including live performances from the cast of hit US series Glee, former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke and chart-topping group the Black Eyed Peas. Hosted by Dermot O'Leary.

Never mind Vids, just you be happy that your girl got through - and I'll be happy that Matt is through.
What a pile of shit.
Goodnight all.

That'd be another first then cos before they've all recorded 'their' version of the same song...
But Cher isn't being overly happy or overly sad, she has emotions that suit the situation shes in, unlike constantly happy Stacey.
Anyway yogi, good luck for the final, and may the best woman win.

Vids -I will give you my opinion.
When Cher sings straight IMO she is better than anyone else on there. I love her performances - she owns the stage and she has a wonderful stage presence. She really does not need to rap - she is far better without that and she turns into this horrible aggressive person which no one likes. Tonight's performance was wonderful. I also think she is an emotional rollercoaster and as a 17 year old is a pain in the neck - as they all are, One minute they are full of confidence - the next a crumbled mess.
I don't take much notice of the papers TBH.
I would HATE Rebecca to win - I hate all that crinching and humble crap - that winds me up.
I would HATE Matt to win because he is a pratt who believes his own hype.
One Direction - not that good really -there to shut Simon up.
So I think that she can be outstanding.. I think she has more stage presence than the rest of them and it is a great shame that stupid Cheryl Cole is managing her.
So there.

Erin,,,,,
I thought Cher sounded like she was getting plunged like a toilet tonight, but then I've never really rated her singing voice, it's like Pinky and Perky on HRT. As for this so called vulnerability, I just think she's a gobby little cow who places herself far too highly and needs to seriously grow up. If she thinks she'll last long in the music business with that attitude and those social skills she's got another think coming cos people won't want to work with her more than once (and that's if they even manage to finish the project).
She needs a serious dose of humbleness and tonight (IN MY OPINION) - it was far from humble.

Issy, I love you, your last post was spot on and I totally agree with you.

I would like to see Matt win, and could live with Cher or One Direction winning (even with Harry) but I would be horrified to see REbecca win. I can't think of another performer who is as totally lacking in personality as she is.
I really don't like Cher at all as a person I think she's arrogant and full of herself but she definitely has more about her than any of the others. She's an excellent performer and a good singer when she wants to be but if she doesn't win it will be for the same reason she has been in the bottom two: Cheryl Cole.
Cheryl really needs to tell her to drop the rap bulls*it and just sing the damned songs and I don't mean just for ballads. She won't of course which means Cher hasn't a hope in hell of winning it. For every one person who likes that rapping nonsense there's 100 more who hate it,.

The voting public were misinformed regarding the public vote.
The contestant with the lowest votes had to leave,no mention of the judges having the final say ,never happened before,if you are a voter and feel misinformed, fill in the form.

On RTE Radio last week, at least twice, Louis Walsh said there will be no sing off, it's out of our hands, there's nothing we can do about it now, it's in the hands of the public. Fact.
It is misleading... but I can never be bothered to complain about a reality TV show.

Is it a singing contest or a popularity contest? I would like to see Rebecca win because I think she is a brilliant singer that doesn't need to have publicity or have a mentor that favours her above the others. Rebecca is different than all the others in the pop charts.

Watching extra factor ,has Alexander Burke got the biggest forehead ever. Its even bigger than Ant Mc Partland.
She certainly has the strongest jawline of any female i've ever seen....she could swallow mice WHOLE.

Erin...i thought that too, at this stage its the public that decides? Why have they changed it this year?

Rebecca is technically the weakest singer left imo. She's just a straight Sade rip off and has only one type of vocal delivery for every song ever written. Matt's probably the best singer left in it even though I find him quite dull most of the time.
