X Factor: Do Olly Murs and Jamie Archer get mobbed by ladies - see pics

X Factor fans [Pic:Splashnews.com)

Waiting outside The X Factor house for hours paid off for these ladies – not only did they meet Olly Murs and Jamie Archer, but they even got a synchronised smooch.

With the boys happily chatting to fans and posing for pictures, it looks like they’re getting used to mobs of screaming girls who hang around outside the luxury north London pad.

Hundreds of people have scrawled across the outer walls with marker pens, leaving good luck messages and writing the names of their favourite acts.

But finalist Lucie Jones says everyone is loving the attention and wants to make the most of fame in case it’s only temporary.

She tells us: “The fans are all so lovely – it’s flattering that people wait outside to talk to you.

“You have to enjoy it because you never know how long it’s going to last.”

Kandy Rain 'get booed off stage'

Kandy Rain

'X Factor' stars Kandy Rain were booed off stage in Surrey at the weekend, according to The Sun.

Azi Jegbefume, Coco Lloyd, Khatereh Dovani and Chemmane Applewhite appeared at McClusky's in Kingston at the weekend but apparently had to be escorted off stage by security due to a negative audience reaction.

"It was carnage. Kandy Rain were only on stage for about five minutes," said a source. "Every time they tried to talk they just got booed. It looked like things could turn nasty so the bouncers escorted them away."

The girl group were the first act to be voted off the 'X Factor' live shows earlier this month.

No Idea Daniel J*, they are all lovely girls, but if the clubbers have had some drink they just boo them for something to do and think they are being clever.

Not a nice place to be in really.
I feel sorry for the girls.
It's not nice to be treated like that, they haven't done anything to hurt them.

I've read that Jedward have been mentioned in the US, they would love them there. Cheryl has increased their popularity lmfao and their fun performances. http://www.msnbc.msn.com
I wonder if we can get them to come over this week and take them back.

Errr no theres She Bangs to look forward to. As for Kandy Rain sooo bitter about Danyl and going out first. He is not arrogant or cocky as the press or what people think imo he's confident and thats being mistaken for arrogance, maybe he should pretend to have no confidence whatsoever to get by.

Another good review of Diana from the Telegraph.
it seems that 'The Rise and Fall of Little Voice' is doing pretty good.
I've got to get to see it somehow.

The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at the Vaudeville Theatre, review

Diana Vickers more than holds her own in the title role in this heartfelt production of The Rise and Fall of Little Voice at the Vaudeville Theatre. Rating: * * * *

It is nights like this that make my job both a privilege and a pleasure.

Though it was a big success in the early nineties and was subsequently turned into a film, Jim Cartwright’s The Rise and Fall of Little Voice is rarely revived.

The reason isn’t hard to find. It demands a young star who can’t just act and sing, but sing like a host of the great divas of popular song — Shirley Bassey, Dusty Springfield, Edith Piaf and Judy Garland among them.

Jane Horrocks firmly established her star credentials in this show. Now it is the turn of 18-year-old Diana Vickers.

Those who have the stomach for talent-show TV at its most gaudy and manipulative will already have heard of her. She wound up in fourth place in The X Factor last year.

Having endured more than my fair share of trial by light entertainment over the years, I have always given the show a miss. But what’s remarkable about encountering Diana Vickers for the first time on stage is that it turns out that she can act as well as sing, and more than hold her own in the company of seasoned professionals.

Cartwright’s play is a rough-cut gem, blessed with filthy jokes, outlandish characters, and moments of both sentimentality and savagery. It has its faults: the author overdoes the vernacular stage poetry, like some word-drunk Dylan Thomas of the Lancashire mill-towns, and there are moments, even in a production whipped along by that great master of popular theatre, Terry Johnson, when the pace flags.

What’s never in doubt, however, is that Little Voice combines a highly original dramatic vision with a heart as big as a house. Vickers plays a quiet, painfully shy girl called Little Voice, whose beloved father died when she was a child, bequeathing her his collection of LPs by female vocalists. They are her only consolation in a life burdened by a boozy, vulgar mother, Mari Hoff, drinking in the last chance saloon, and squeezing herself into a succession of tarty outfits matched with knickers retrieved from the dirty laundry basket as she tries to get herself a man.

She thinks she’s found her man when she meets Ray Say, a small time hustler with dreams of becoming a talent agent. But Ray turns out to be more interested in her withdrawn daughter’s ability to sing like her idols than in Mari.

Lesley Sharp is outstanding as the fearsome Mari, loud, entirely selfish and yelling at her terrified daughter: Are you agoraphobical [sic] because if you are you can get out. But there is an anguish in Sharp’s whirlwind performance that compels pity as well as contempt.

Vickers, clutching her knees to her chest, brings a poignant buttoned-up grief and fear to Little Voice, and is magical when she sings. And there is terrific support from Mark Warren as the odious Ray Say; Rachel Lumberg as Mari’s fat friend who astonishes the house by performing the splits; James Cartwright (son of the playwright) as LV’s shy admirer and Tony Haygarth as a sleazy MC in a hilariously improbable toupee.

Popular theatre doesn’t come much better than this.

Ooh I did really like Diana last year, was gutted when she was voted out but glad she is doing well for herself.
I was sorry when she was voted out, I liked her quirky voice and freshness.
Hope it all goes well for her.
It's a good run up to her Single of Album.

‘Gran’ Stacey tucked up

YOUNG mother Stacey Solomon seems more like an OAP to her fellow X Factor contestants - because she is in bed by 9pm each night.

Stacey

The Essex girl, 20 - mum to 18-month-old Zachary - has earned the nickname "Gran" as she likes to be tucked up so early.

A show source said: "She is the granny of the house as she is in bed by 9pm every night!"

However, pretty Stacey did make an exception on Monday evening.

Despite contestants having a strict 8.30pm curfew, Stace and fellow wannabe Rachel Adedeji, 17, left the X Factor house after-hours to buy fast food.

The pair took a taxi to a chicken restaurant, where they were mobbed for photos and autographs.

They did not get back to the shared house in North London until 9.20pm - when Stacey presumably went straight to bed.

Hicky

Wannabes? They’ve already got 15m fans!

X Factor contestants leaving the X Factor house in north London today. Stacey Solomon.

Autograph hunters ... Stacey Solomon is swamped by young fans as she leaves the X Factor house in north London

NEARLY 15million viewers watched the X Factor on Sunday night - and half of them seemed to show up yesterday to monster Stacey Solomon in person.

The ditzy Essex lass, 20, was swamped by young fans who have made the contestants' house in North London a pilgrimage site.

Crowds have been building up for weeks - but have hit record levels as this year's series officially becomes the most-watched yet.

Sunday's ratings were the ITV1 show's highest ever - with the 14.8million tuning in to see judge Cheryl Cole perform, eclipsing the 14.6million who watched Alexandra Burke win the series last year.

Enterprising local kids have now even turned the throngs into a business - setting up a tuck shop on a table to flog pop and sweets to the mob.

And the gates and fence of the share house have been covered in graffiti with messages like "John and Edward forever" and "We love Lloyd".

But despite the vast number of fans on the loose, it seems Jamie "Afro" Archer's most ardent supporter is himself.

The pub singer, 34, stepped out in a T-shirt featuring his own photo, plus the words "Go With The Fro".

Looks like his head is as big as his hair.

Stacey is bruvs’ fan

X FACTOR star Stacey Solomon wants everyone to give gruesome twosome Edward and John a break because they are "really cool" dancers.

Stacey
Essex girl Stacey, 20, loved their cheesy rendition of Britney Spears' Oops I Did It Again when they donned matching red leather suits.

But she revealed the twins are also the messiest in the X Factor house - leaving empty cereal bowls everywhere.

Stacey, a favourite to win, said: "I love watching them perform. They're cool dancers and really nice guys."

She revealed how her mentor Dannii Minogue bought her presents for her 20th birthday earlier this month.

Stacey said: "I got a bag and a black jumper from Dannii but I didn't get presents from any contestants."

Cheryl Cole "lonely" without Girls Aloud

Cheryl Cole

WENN

Cheryl Cole has revealed that she feels "lonely" without her Girls Aloud bandmates.

The singer, who is on course to have the fastest-selling single of the year with 'Fight For This Love', claimed that she misses the support of the other four girls.

"It is weird. It's a little bit lonely. I find myself either glad that there aren't four other opinions at times or hating the fact that there's not," she told Attitude.

"I can't give the 'Cheryl' look where you look at one of them across the room and they answer the question or they sense that you're fed up so they do it anyway."

The 26-year-old, who releases debut solo album Three Words on Monday, admitted that there is now more pressure on her when doing promotion.

"You have to be completely on the ball in every aspect. You haven't got any shielding. It's been up and down really," she said.

Girls Aloud are expected to return to the studio next year after signing a new three-album deal with Fascination records last February.

Osbourne: 'Dannii wouldn't sing live'

Osbourne: 'Dannii wouldn't sing live'

WENN

Kelly Osbourne has claimed that Dannii Minogue would not sing live if she ever performed on The X Factor.

The reality star made the remark in response to the criticism levelled at Minogue's fellow judge Cheryl Cole for partly miming her song 'Fight For This Love' on the show.

Writing in her Closer magazine column, Osbourne commented: "We all know Dannii Minogue wouldn't be able to sing live, so it'd be a double standard if Cheryl had to."

She added: "I think everyone knows how I feel about Dannii after the way she treated my mum on The X Factor."

It is not the first time that Osbourne has hit out at Minogue. Last year, she slammed the singer for branding her mother a bully.

Speaking at the time, she complained: "Dannii is spineless really. She said nothing to my mum's face and even gave her an end-of-series gift."

JLS 'glad' to lose X Factor

JLS

Happy with 2nd Place ... JLS

X FACTOR runners up JLS insist they're glad they lost out to last year's winner Alexandra Burke - and said they wouldn't have won two Mobos otherwise.

The boy band, who swiped two gongs at this year's music awards, said they didn't need to win the ITV1 contest to be successful.

One fourth of the band, Marvin, said: "With hindsight now, we're glad we didn't win the X Factor because we wouldn't be in this position.

"We've had an amazing start, Alex is a deserved winner, she's a fantastic artist and we've now won two Mobos.

"It's not always about winning, it's not always about beating someone, it's about us establishing ourselves in the market place and having a career in music."

The boys also stood up for the way the show delves into contestants' private lives and bangs on about their sob stories.

Oritse said: "You get very attached to people. I almost don't believe in the term 'sob story', because for me, it's one of the biggest reasons why the show is so relatable to the general public.

"Nobody wants to see fully auditioned artists going onto that show being well groomed and well prepared."

The group, who were mentored by Louis Walsh and saw their debut single Beat Again leap straight to number one, also admitted that cracking America is in their sights for the future.

But for now, they insisted, it's all about doing well on their home turf.

Sign of the times

X FACTOR bosses are stroking Simon Cowell's legendary ego by handing out 'I Love Simon!' banners to the studio audience each week.

Production staff create all the signs seen on the live shows each weekend and then ask for them back at the end.

Before the show begins, different banners are handed out to audience members.

Simon Cowell

Legendary ego ... Simon Cowell

One lucky - or unlucky - young girl was handed an 'I Love Simon!' banner before Sunday's first results show, and during an interval was brought up to meet Simon.

Other audience members were given 'Stacey to win' and 'I fancy Lloyd' signs. And like many of the judge's barbs the banners are recycled each week.

The show's warm up man told the audience on Sunday: "We need to collect all the banners at the end of the show so we can re-use them next week.

"If you see the one you are holding now on TV, you can tell everyone you held that banner."

The insider said: "We couldn't believe it.

"We thought people had genuinely made their own banners but it seems people just get them so they can be seen on TV."

A spokesperson for the show said: "The runners on the show make the banners.

"We can't have loads of people bringing banners down they're just too bulky."

I'm actually intrigued by the twins - their weirdness has almost become endearing and I'm actually warming to them. They seem very young for 18. However, I do think they are in for an almighty let down when they get voted out. They will be slaughtered by their peers, especially after the get up of red plastic/pleather suits last Saturday. God, whoever picked those clothes was having a laugh. I think we'll have the pleasure of their act for a few more weeks.

Maybe it's because they are quite popular but can't sing.
Which to mind doesn't make a winner.

I wonder that too.

They get on my nerves, I think they are talentless and pretty smug but I don't see the weirdness.

Perhaps people just find it eerie because they are identical...
FM
Perhaps my use of the word weird was a bit strong, but I do find it slightly disconcerting the way they speak in unison and keep looking to/ at each other when they speak. Might be a twin thing, also  think they have a future in the entertainment business, perhaps kids tv.

Dannii Minogue is going to be on Piers Morgan life stories can't wait, I see pics of her wedding are in OK.

As for the Twins they are sooo playing up to the arrogant tag and winding people up, fair enough if people don't like them but so far people want them to stay and they might get fed up soon, who knows?.

'X Factor' bosses gagging to get Gaga

23/10/2009 - 11:06:44
‘The X Factor’ bosses are desperate to sign Lady Gaga to mentor the show’s acts.

A source has revealed Simon Cowell wants the ‘Poker Face’ singer to appear on the show – despite her blasting reality TV talent shows, saying they give people a “false understanding” of success.

Gaga said: “If you win a TV show and you have a hit record, you sort of have a false understanding of what it means to earn success.

"The shows are set up for a winner, for someone to win. Whereas with someone like me, who writes my own songs, you have to set yourself up to win.”

Sources say despite her comments bosses are the still keen to add Gaga to the list of stars appearing on the show, in order to make this year’s celebrity performers the strongest yet.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “‘X Factor’ has given fans Robbie Williams and Whitney Houston.

“Now with Bon Jovi, Shakira and all being well, Lady Gaga, it will make it the best series yet for big name acts.”

Bon Jovi announced yesterday they will appear on the show on November 1. The rockers will perform their latest single ‘We Weren’t Born to Follow’ and mentor the acts to perform a selection of their own songs.

Meanwhile, Westlife - who are performing on the show this Sunday - admitted they are petrified of their appearance.

The group’s Mark Feehily said: “There is always something a little bit scary about the ‘X Factor’ stage. It's so huge and you have the judges in front of you. It's like being a teenager at your first audition.

“We've performed some massive gigs and huge TV shows but ‘X Factor’ always makes me a little bit more nervous than anything else we do.”

So far the series has seen Robbie Williams and Whitney Houston both make their UK TV comebacks. Susan Boyle is also lined up to perform this series, and producers are said to be working hard to sign Madonna to appear.

Should be a good weekend then, plus many more to come.

Haven't seen OK this week, but Dannii is OK, just trying to make a few bob and enjoy life.

The future for the twins is up to the public, like all Celebs, if you have the fans you are successful.

I just don't have enough fans, that's the problem, as well as not being able to sing, I picked the short straw,

Laura White

Friday, October 23 2009, 06:14 BST

By Alex Fletcher, Senior Entertainment Reporter

Laura White
Laura White's early exit from last year's X Factor caused such a kerfuffle that everyone from Lily Allen to MPs in the House of Commons waded in on the debate. The Bolton singer, who'd been an early favourite to win the ITV1 series, even bagged herself a DS Reality Award because of her shock departure. Twelve months on, Laura's one of the few contestants from the show still attempting to craft a pop career. As she prepares to release her debut single, we gave her a call for a catch-up.

It's been a year since X Factor. Are you pleased finally to be releasing this album?
"Totally. I've been working a real long time getting these songs together and I've been very, very lucky to do the single and album with some really great writers. Ian Green, who I worked with, was involved in Madonna's new 'Celebration' track. I love my new single and I just hope everyone else does. I've put a lot of hard work into it."

What's your debut single, 'You Should Have Known', about?
"'You Should Have Known' is based on a relationship where someone can hurt you. It's about that moment when you realise that you have moved on. That's where the lyric comes in: 'You should have known better than to leave me alone'. It's a strong moving on song really."

Were you nervous to sing the line: "The love was wrong, but the sex was nice"?
"I was at first, but I just wanted to sing a song where the lyrics were real speaking. Rather than just a song written about a subject, I wanted the lyrics to be something people would actually say in a relationship. The song is a real song and it's definitely based on real life experiences. It means a lot and it's quite empowering really."

In the video you show a sexy side that we didn't really see on The X Factor. Are you pleased to be working this new image?
"People have picked up on this, but I didn't really notice. I suppose it's because there's a dance routine and it's quite a sexy routine. The song is quite urban and contemporary and it's a completely new sound for myself, but I'm still very much about my voice and the music. That's the way I want to keep it."

What can we expect from the debut album when it arrives?
"The album is quite an eclectic mix. There's a lot of urban on it, and some hip-hop influences, but there are also retro songs and a few ballads on there. I didn't want to focus on one particular sort of music. A lot of people thought I'd have a jazzy album, and there are a few jazz bits here and there, but I didn't want to do straight jazz."

Were you ever tempted to knock out a quick covers album?
"A few X Factor contestants have done the covers album, but I've been adamant all the way that I wanted it be my own music. I can write, so I wanted to bring out a record of new stuff and really find my own sound. That's why it's taken such a long while to release it."

Looking back, are you still annoyed that the judges voted you off X Factor so early?
"Oh no, not at all! Things can happen in so many different ways on that show. Even though I was the favourite to win at the start, I always felt like I wouldn't. I always felt slightly to the left of the show. I didn't quite have the X Factor image. I think it's the best show on TV, I really enjoyed my time on it and it totally changed my life, so it was wicked to be involved. I didn't really mind that much that I left. I think it was just the right time to go."

Are you still in contact with your mentor, Cheryl Cole?
"We kept in touch for a while, but obviously for the last couple of months we've both been so busy. I will always have great respect for Cheryl. She picked me as one of her Girls and it really meant a lot to me. I know Cheryl loves urban music and this song's definitely got some hip-hop influences, so I hope Cheryl will like it. I think her new song's brilliant. It's such a well-written song and it's very different to what people expected from her. It goes against the grain."

Thanks a lot for your time Laura!
"Thank you - and please tell everyone at Digital Spy that I always check what they're saying on the forums. They have supported me all the way and it means a lot to me!"

Laura White's debut single 'You Should Have Known' is released on November 2.
-------------
And I'm sure she is on the TV 'This Morning' or 'Loose Women' on the 4th Nov, can't remember which.
