Westlife singer Kian Egan has admitted that he finds Danyl Johnson annoying when he watches The X Factor.

The boyband star revealed that he used to enjoy Johnson's performances but now feels differently about the schoolteacher, who is part of Simon Cowell's Over 25s category.

Egan told Sky News: "I was a fan of Danyl but he doesn't do it for me now. He seems to have lost it, he annoys me now and I want to turn over."

Meanwhile, his bandmate Shane Filan predicted that there will be a close battle between Joe McElderry and Stacey Solomon in the final instalments of the ITV1 contest.

Filan said: "Joe's the best singer, and Stacey - I think they'll be the final two."

The X Factor continues on Saturday at 8pm on ITV1.

Lucie Jones has claimed that X Factor semi-finalist Danyl Johnson is not as good as Simon Cowell claims.

The 18-year-old Welsh singer, who exited the live shows in week five, argued that Cowell's weekly standing ovations for Johnson were over the top.

"If you look at the way Simon stands up for Danyl every time he sings. I'm sorry Danyl's not that good every time he sings," she told The Mirror.

She added: "I'm not surprised who's in the semi-final and I think Stacey, Olly and Joe will make it to the final. Joe will go and win it. He's a ridiculously good singer with a great personality and cute and good looking at the same time."

Jones will be a special guest at the launch of the Gift Of Time store in Berwick Street, London tomorrow. Organised by the National Volunteers Service, it it attempting to persuade shoppers to give their time rather than presents over the festive season.

John and Edward Grimes have rejected suggestions that Simon Cowell wants Joe McElderry to win this year's X Factor more than his own acts.

It has been claimed that Cowell recently urged the other judges to back McElderry, despite him mentoring Olly Murs and Danyl Johnson.

However, John told The Mirror: "I think that's a load of speculation. I think that everyone goes out there and does their own thing.

"They work with their own mentor. Joe's with Cheryl, he has Danyl and Olly and Dannii has Stacey."

He added: "Who's going to win? I think that everyone has a good chance, I think that they're all on the same level, but I think that people seem to vote for them.

"We want Stacey to win, but people need to get behind her and vote for her."

Edward said: "Think about it, there's no bottom two anymore so if someone doesn't get the votes then they're gone."
