The controversial X Factor duo and Edward are set to appear at Glasgow venue Campus on Sunday night. They will now also play Falkirk’s City venue as demand to see Jedward reaches fever pitch.
The twins will fly into Scotland by private jet on Sunday after filming a Channel 4 special in London’s Earl Court, and networking sites have been flooded by fans eager to snap up tickets to see the controversial Irish duo.
Campus has become the official home of The X Factor in Glasgow an each Sunday plays host to the latest act to get voted off. Jamie Archer played the venue at the weekend.
But the venue’s marketing and entertainment manager Cameron Craig says John and Edward’s appearance is taking things to a whole new level.
Speaking to the Daily Record he said:” I’ve worked with a lot of big stars but none of them have come anywhere close to this.
“In terms of the The X Factor we’ve had JLS four times and we thought they were big. It was like Beatlemania with those boys- really insane, scarily so.
But that is completely overshadowed by John and Edward. This is a whole new level.
Commenting on the £10 pay on the door gigs he added: ”There is no way we could just do the Campus show, so we’re putting them on early at City in Falkirk. They will go onstage there at around 11pm and headline Campus around 12.30am.
“We could have put this in the SECC and filled it. I only wish campus was bigger.
"The interest in them is way beyond anything we’ve ever booked before. .
“We’ve been really taken aback by at the scale and intensity of the response. They are going to be absolute superstars - possibly even more so than whoever ends up winning.”
Cameron also bemoaned the twins X Factor exit." It's comedy really isn't it." he said. "They've brought that fun factor back into it, they're hilarious. Love them or hate them, you watched to see what they would be doing next. They will be missed."
