John and Edward “could fill SECC” says promoter as extra Scottish date added

The controversial X Factor duo and Edward are set to appear at Glasgow venue Campus on Sunday night. They will now also play Falkirk’s City venue as demand to see Jedward reaches fever pitch.

The twins will fly into Scotland by private jet on Sunday after filming a Channel 4 special in London’s Earl Court, and networking sites have been flooded by fans eager to snap up tickets to see the controversial Irish duo.

Campus  has become the official home of The X Factor in Glasgow an each Sunday plays host to the latest act to get voted off. Jamie Archer played the venue at the weekend.

But the venue’s marketing and entertainment manager Cameron Craig says John and Edward’s appearance is taking things to a whole new level.

Speaking to the Daily Record he said:” I’ve worked with a lot of big stars but none of them have come anywhere close to this.

“In terms of the The X Factor we’ve had JLS four times and we thought they were big. It was like Beatlemania with those boys- really insane, scarily so.

But that is completely overshadowed by John and Edward. This is a whole new level.

Commenting on the £10 pay on the door gigs he added: ”There is no way we could just do the Campus show, so we’re putting them on early at City in Falkirk. They will go onstage there at around 11pm and headline Campus around 12.30am.

“We could have put this in the SECC and filled it. I only wish campus was bigger.

"The interest in them is way beyond anything we’ve ever booked before. .

“We’ve been really taken aback by at the scale and intensity of the response. They are going to be absolute superstars - possibly even more so than whoever ends up winning.”

Cameron also bemoaned the twins X Factor exit." It's comedy really isn't it." he said. "They've brought that fun factor back into it, they're hilarious. Love them or hate them, you watched to see what they would be doing next. They will be missed."

The 16-year-old singer reportedly broke down in tears over judge Louis Walsh’s criticism of his singing, after he said he “can’t believe” Lloyd is still in the competition. . “Also, when he was not put into the bottom two, the audience started booing loudly, which is a lot to take on for a young lad. “He will be OK, he just had a knock on Sunday night and the pressure is really on. After all, there’s only three weeks left on the show.” He better grow up fast poor John and Edward had to endure all of this and worse since week one and they never minded. lloyd out next week
Hi Blue diamond. I feel a bit sorry for Lloyd, as I would be gutted if that were my son, but it's concrete proof that you have to have very thick skin to be in that business. Most of the contestants really don't have what it takes at all. Also, I think although the twins had to take flak, at least there were TWO of them. You're much stronger and more confident when you have someone else with you, enduring the same problem.

Take That theme again? Last years Take That theme was crap, only Ruth gave a good performance that week
I heard it's Take That theme again this week, but based around their Circus show,
(the DVD came out this week, & the CD next).
Not sure it it's 100% though.

Ruth rocked during TT week last year, as she did most weeks.

Again, spurious bolleaux. The programme has never changed, it has always been about hypocrisy and cynical money making. It is television at it's best and an absolute gift to everyone from the shallow to the media analysts.

Lots of stuff articles about John and Edward.

As for Strolly I don't care that Stacey and Olly are supposedly together, clever move for the publicity but there is deffo something between them and good luck to them if true.

darloboy (Play The Game!)
I don't think Stacey and Olly or anyone else is together in any sort of way.
It just happens that if you talk to someone they print you are courting.
They aren't going to start courting part way through their biggest challenge of their life are they.

The papers have to fill the column inches with something, and it's seldom the truth.
The truth sells nothing.

One of Stacey's songs is 'Big Girls Don't Cry', it shows her doing a bit of practice on the X-Factor site.

Blimey.  I thought it was just me who was increasing his 'milk yield' on the back of them?

X Factor winning formula revealed - and if it's right Danyl will win

Danyl Johnson [Pic:ITV)

X Factor sponsor TalkTalk has devised a scientific formula based on previous series to predict who is most likely to win - and if the maths are correct, Danyl will walk away the victor of this series.

The phone and telly company spent weeks studying material from previous series of the hit show to try and put a finger on that elusive ‘star quality’ that guarantees fame and fortune.

The researchers analysed performances from past contestants of all six series of The X Factor, going back to 2004.

They rated contestants for a range of factors including appearance, vocal talent, ambition, moving back-story and dance moves and isolated eight vital ingredients which, when combined in the right way, reliably guarantee success both on the TV talent show and beyond.

When the researchers tested the formula on past contestants they found that the ultimate X Factor winner to date is Alexandra Burke.

While she scored equally with Leona Lewis on talent and charisma, the 2007 winner was booted out of the 2005 show by Louis Walsh, giving her vital extra points on the back story score.

The secret ingredients essential for success are:

1.     Appearance (a)
2.    Charisma (C)
3.    Back story (B)
4.    Resilience (r)

5.    Singing Talent (T)
6.        Misplaced self-belief (m)
7.        Self-centredness (S)
8.        Determination (D)

OR, if you will:

The X-Factor equation

The formula illustrating the perfect combination of ingredients for fame

The results could explain why past winners such as Steve Brookstein and Leon Jackson never made it as stars, due to low scores for ambition, appearance and less than impressive dance moves!

TalkTalk Head of Research said, “Whether you call it the x-factor, star quality or simply ‘it’, the elusive secret to fame is something every contestant on the show is searching for.

"While some of the acts have done well on The X Factor due to their charisma and appearance, they’ve failed to make it in the wider world because they lack some of the other vital ingredients.”

Using the formula, Mirror.co.uk reckons Danyl is still the best bet for chart success, shown by high scores for appearance, singing talent and resilience in the face of public criticism.

We scored Danyl:

Appearance: 8 – everyone agrees he looks cute with his new haircut

Charisma: 6 – wowed judges an audiences in his first audition, but then put some off with his cockiness. Can he win them back?

Back Story: 6 – as a teacher he had a great emotional hook at the start of the show and his experiences throughout have given him depth

Resilience: 7 – bounced back from judges criticism week after week but has shown signs of stress

Singing Talent: 8 – all the judges agree he has the best voice in the competition

Misplaced self-belief: 8 – a lot of people would agree with this score we think!

Self-centredness: 9 – again, Danyl’s had criticism for being arrogant and cocky

Determination: 6 – he left it late in life to go for his dream of being a star, will he have the determination to keep pushing for it after the show?

Giving him a grand total 47,050 – he’s a pop star in the making and not far off being a bonafide chart topper.

Most of the acts don’t come far behind, however scoring at:

Stacey – 46,012

Olly – 42,775

Joe – 40,954

Apart from poor Lloyd who’s trailing behind with 5,657 – losing out on charisma, singing talent and resilience to his fellow finalists.

Guess we'll be saying goodbye to Lloyd soon then...

According to an online poll I just did Danyl is next out after Lloyd. That works for me! Next is Olly, then Stacey, then Joe as winner.
Well, it all goes by the public vote and the polls don't have that figure, just like the betting odds, they only have the money going on them, then relating to the voting.
People get it confused.

The singer with the biggest following will win anyway.
It doesn't say the the best voice will always win, of course not, you have to appeal to the public.

I think Stacey has the biggest all round appeal myself and hope she wins.
Not bothered where the others come, it just depends who they appeal to.

Thanks for that SWG  - well depending how they mess around with the arrangement of the songs I can see Olly and Lloyd bottom two this week

some lovely songs this week - really looking forward to it and my choice is

Joe to win

Loving Danyl's song choices.

As much as I want Lloyd to go a part of me wants him to stay just to further show what rubbish this year has been.
