John and Edward are entertaining but they do need to go soon! its getting ridiculous!
The judges only have themselves to blame Chicken, they put them through and I bet Simon knew they would cause controversy so he has the final say who gets through to final 12. Jedward have managed to build up their fanbase and so far managed to keep them safe.

I've read some of the people who don't want them say the show is losing credibility, it's never had any because XF is a reality/talent show like SCD so that goes out of the window.

They'll be 'encouraged' to leave soon I suppose like John Sergeant in SCD.  There's no point in their winning as they can't sing and there's only so much a recording studio can do.  A week or two longer may give them a break in, say, CITV or whatever the Irish equivalent is and there's always the personal appearance fees to milk for a while.

Singer to Star at Awards

Sunday November 08 2009

Former X Factor contestant Laura White is to perform her debut single live at the 7UP GO Belfast Awards.

The 22-year-old singer's elimination from last year's competition caused outrage among the public and was even mentioned in the House of Commons.

The awards will take place at the Europa Hotel on November 13, with an after-party at the Belfast club.

But what would Simon do with them if they won?

Get them singing lessons. He knows they are the most profitable act more so than whoever wins anyway so won't want to sever all ties but Max Clifford is sniffing around.
Simon couldn't afford for the Twins to win.
He would be a laughing stock around the world and the show would be finished.
They would never get an more singers to enter for the show.
In fact they might not now even with the way they are treated by the judges, it's a disgrace from what I can see.

John and Edward can go out every week if they stay in knowing they have nothing to lose, as if they do go they will have lots of offers. For the others it is make or break, more karaoke and cover versions which are done mostly by singers in the charts nowadays anyway so nothing new and are more desperate, they would have to do it if they win which they won't.

Olly, Joe and Stacey will be in the final probably...

It's pretty good TV IMHYCO. That's all Mrs C and I discussed on our way to dinner today.
We can't make up our minds if it is all scripted or not.
Did Louie shake his handbag at Dermot as a spur of the moment thing? Had he been rebuffed? Who will go tonight, Lloyd or Stacey? How long will the twins last? Will they be an Eddie the Eagle? Is XF a reflection on the crisis of hegemony in politics and thus something people feel that they can have an honest vote? Is it a fix? Just some of the exciting things.
TBH I was really looking forward to Armstrong and Miller but that turned  out to be desperate TV.

Letter: Simple remedy to X Factor voting

Sunday, November 08, 2009, 18:05

I have for some time been a fan of The X Factor and have whole heartily agreed over the years with those numbers that respond when voting to retain their particular favourite singer for another week.

However, I must ask this question regarding this heavily viewed Saturday night programme.

Is the X Factor all about generating money regarding the voting system, or is it to bring about the best person or persons that can both sing and entertain public and go forward into a singing career upon being voted the winner on the very last show?

I must say that I'm no longer a member of the general public vote, however, I now sit back in amazement at some members of the public out there that neither have an ear for music nor an eye for entertainment in repeatedly voting each week for those that cannot sing nor entertain.

We are now heading towards the final stages, in my opinion contestants are leaving that are in tune and can sing whilst others are still remaining via the voting system to give many of us earache.

The remedy is simple. Bring in vote busters that the four panelists unanimously agree to.

The three vote busters would consist of impartial and recognisable professional persons in the music industry that would be independent of personality towards remaining contestants and the four panelists.

On this particular Saturday night there would be no public voting and any contestant hanging on simply on the vote of the general public without ears for music nor eyes for entertainment would be dismissed and the programme continue fairer and more democratically.

I have deliberately not named he, she or those I believe have no right to continue performing owing to everyone having an alternative point of view, however, I would welcome their comments.

Don't get excited if the page gets stretched, it's usually just a bit of html code that has to come out.
(It's usually to do with adverts.)
I usually take it out when I notice the stretch.
I just edit the post and sort it out.
If it's stretched because of the code in the post there's not much I can do, but it sorts itself when the page changes.

JLS oust Cole from top of chart

JLS
The boy band's first single Beat Again topped the chart in July

Former X Factor contestants JLS have ousted show judge Cheryl Cole from the top of the singles chart.

The boy band topped the chart with Everybody in Love, their second single, knocking Cole's Fight For This Love off the top spot it had held for two weeks.

However, the Girls Aloud singer stayed at number one in the albums chart with her debut long-player 3 Words.

Veteran US rockers Bon Jovi saw their new album The Circle enter the chart at number two.

New entries in the singles chart included Kesha at number six with Tik Tok, and Chase and Status's End Credits at number nine.

Foo Fighters' Greatest Hits album entered at four, while classical singer Katherine Jenkins made number nine with The Ultimate Collection.

JLS are the first British act to have had two number one hits in the same year since McFly in 2006, the Official Charts Company said.

Member Oritse Williams said: "To have our first two singles go to number one is more than we ever expected."

Cole's single Fight for this Love was the fastest selling debut single of the year, followed by JLS' first release Beat Again.
