X Factor's Jamie threatens to walk

X Factor's Jamie threatens to walk
X Factor finalist Jamie Archer has reportedly threatened to quit the show after his relationship with mentor Simon Cowell hit a new low.

According to The Sun, the 34-year-old singer saw red after being banned from going on tour with rockers Bon Jovi, guests on last weekend's show.

Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi reportedly asked Archer - known as Jamie Afro - to join them on tour, but the move was vetoed by producers who claimed that he is under contract to X Factor.

And a friend told the paper that this could be the last straw for Archer, who fell out with Simon Cowell two weeks ago after he ordered him to change his song at the last minute.

"Jamie's fed up with the competition and how Simon is treating him," the source said.

"He was on the verge of quitting at the weekend because he was so angry at being given rubbish songs and some judges' comments. He hasn't forgiven Simon for changing his song.

"Their relationship is not great. There were already serious cracks but now it's more like the Grand Canyon."

The source added that Archer does not think he will win The X Factor and was convinced he would have a better chance at fame by going on tour with the veteran rockers.

"Jon Bon Jovi came up to him after the Sunday show, told him he liked him and offered him a support act role on the tour.

Jamie was thrilled but his contract means he is tied to X Factor and wouldn't be able to do it. He was absolutely gutted and it made for a tense week between him and Simon.

"He feels Simon gives him rubbish songs to make people vote for Olly Murs and Danyl Johnson. He calmed down and decided to stay as he realised it's incredible exposure."

Archer is one of the outsiders to win the series, according to bookmakers Paddy Power who are offering odds of 16-1 on him taking the title. He has odds of 7-2 on getting the boot this week.

Lloyd Daniels, who survived last week's sing-off, is the bookies favourite to go this week with odds of 6-4 ahead of John and Edward who are second favourites to get the chop.

Olly Murs has replaced Joe McElderry as the 5-2 favourite to win the series. John and Edward's odds of winning have now been slashed to 6-1, putting them just behind third favourite Stacey Solomon in the betting.

Olly is similar to Robbie Williams in that he's a 'cheeky chap' who uses showmanship to cover an average voice.

As such, there will be quite a lot of people who like him.

As for the Jamie situation, I really like him, but I hope he doesn't win. Simon Cowell would not have a clue what to do with him to get the best out of him. But going on a show like this worked for Daughtry, who got picked up by RCA, so perhaps Jamie could end up in a similar situation...
