I visit utube a lot to listen to all different kinds of music I enjoy. Among the positive comments by those who enjoy what I enjoy there's always some who add the most obnoxious, vile, or plain ignorant of comments. It brings you back to reality of how nasty some people are. I don't know what people are saying about Danyl I just enjoy his singing so hope he does well

It's up to the Public, they vote who they want to keep, it's not a singing contest anymore, it's a popularity contest.
Don't agree with you but thats just my opinion. I would rather be joyfully entertained by the twins than have to listen to some person murdering a ballad like many of the other contestants who are not in any way, shape of form good singers OR good entertainers.  Guess its horses for courses

I'm totally confused by your answer, I said it's not a singing contest anymore, it's a popularity contest.
You said you don't agree, you would rather be entertained by the Twins.
It sounds more like you do agree with me.

X Factor: Cheryl Cole’s performance cost ÂĢ65,000

cheryl-cole

Major stars and their routines don’t come cheap, as The Mirror has revealed that Cheryl Cole’s record label recently shelled out ÂĢ65,000 for her routine on The X Factor. Alexandra Burke’s wasn’t much cheaper at ÂĢ60,000 and Bon Jovi’s label paid ÂĢ30,000 for theirs.

An insider told The Mirror: “The performers have to pay for their own productions costs and it’s a small fortune.

“The money is spent on hiring dancers, costumes, extra lighting and lasers and any other special effects they may require. For example, JLS had to bring in special risers to raise the front of the stage while Cheryl and Alexandra had lots of dancers and Westlife had an amazing light show.

“The labels are more than happy to cover the costs as it means their acts are getting exposure to audiences in their millions. Let’s be honest, where else could Bon Jovi be exposed to almost 16 million viewers on a rainy Sunday night in November?”

I agree, Yellow Rose. Also agree about the youtube comments - I can't believe what some people write on there - and that it is allowed to be on there afterwards!!

Songchoice spoilers for tomorrow:

John and Edward
– Ghostbusters by Ray Parker from the film Ghostbusters- I'm so excited for this. They will steal the show as usual...

Danyl Johnson– Purple Rain by Prince from the film Purple Rain- What is Simon thinking of. Ruth's version was pure class last year i'm not sure this will work, he will have to be at the top of his game. I think Simon has switched to bigging up Olly now he is the favourite to win

Stacey Soloman– Son Of A Preacher Man by Dusty Springfield from the film Pulp Fiction

Olly Murs– Twist and Shout written by Phil Medley and Bert Russell from the film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Jamie Archer– Unchained Melody by Alex North from the film Unchained

Joe McElderry– Circle Of Life by Elton John and Tim Rice from the film The Lion King

Lucie Jones -This Is Me from the movie Camp Rock

Lloyd Daniels -Footloose from the movie Footloose- Chavryl chooses another cringe song for Lloyd.

Shock horror - Danyll does another power ballad. I think you're right Darlo, Simon is obviously focusing elsewhere or he's making him look naff now in order for him to have a strong finish. Not sure about Stacey's chioce...I'm not keep on ANYBODY touching Dusty. Odd for Lucie to sing something that few of the viewers ( I assume, perhaps I'm old and out of touch) will have heard before. Camp Rock is a great title for a film though not in this instance.

Not an actual reflection on the real vote but it's interesting.

I really like Danyl but Simon has so got this wrong. I think Simon is obviously enjoying the publicity Danyl generates also even though most of it is negative towards him...

John & Edward get global fanmail

John & Edward get global fanmail

ITV

John & Edward have revealed that they have received X Factor fanmail from around the world.

The Irish twins, who will be performing 'Ghostbusters' on this weekend's show, claimed that they were overwhelmed by all the support they had received from viewers.

"All the fan mail you have sent us, we're bathing in it right now," said the Grimes brothers. "You guys are so cool and we read every single one. Some girls have sent us six letters, they know who they are, they rock.

"One person made a book, that's really cool and we appreciate all the mail we get. We've got mail from Sweden, Norway and Hong Kong, everywhere and we're really appreciative of it."

The duo, who are mentored by Louis Walsh, also said that they are currently not looking for girlfriends.

"So many people want to marry us or go out with us. We've only just turned 18. We're a bit young," they said.

The X Factor continues on Saturday at 8pm on ITV1.

Jamie Afro snuggling up with the blonde stripper from Kandy Rain? Do we smell a set-up?

Oh, how embarrassing. There you are, getting intimate in a bar with someone you've fancied for ages, when along comes a photographer and takes dozens of pictures of you stroking your one true love's hair extensions, putting your arm round her and regaling her with your wit and charm.

Jamie Afro must be gutted that his special moment is now out there for all the X Factor obsessed world to see. Unless.... unless... they wanted these pictures to be taken. We think there are four possibilities:

1. The lady in question, Coco from Kandy Rain - who Jamie admitted he fancied a few weeks ago - has thought "Sod this for a game of soldiers, I'm not getting enough attention anymore. Better get all flirty with Jamie, even though his exposed chest/man jewellery combo makes me feel physically sick, and maybe invite a photographer along without telling him so that I get in the papers and force people to remember I exist."

2. Our dashing hero Jamie has thought "Sod this for a game of soldiers, those other boys in the competition are getting more attention than me. I bet if I call up Coco for a spontaneous drink, she'll jump at the chance to get all the X Factor gossip - and if I position my hair in front of her face, she won't even notice that there's a pre-booked snapper capturing my every grope."

3. Jamie and Coco have jointly concocted an evil plan, along the lines of "Sod this for a game of soldiers, let's fake a relationship to make us both a bit more famous, and invite a photographer along to catch us pretending to fancy each other. Nobody will suspect a thing."

4. Jamie and Coco have no idea they're being papped. Their relationship is real and true and beautiful, and the photographer has magic powers rendering him invisible.

John and Edward ‘most exciting act in Britain’ says Duran Duran star; ‘rubbish’ says Waterman

Duran Duran singer Simon Le Bon has thrown his weight behind X Factor twins John and Edward’s bid for pop stardom.

06 November 2009 15:13 PM

John and Edward ‘most exciting act in Britain’ says Duran Duran star; ‘rubbish’ says Waterman

Birmingham New Romantics Duran Duran were one of the biggest acts of the 1980s and have sold over 100million records to date and in 2004 received an Outstanding Contribution to music award at the BRITs]

While John and Edward would have to go some to match that success, Le Bon nonetheless believes the twins definitely have The X Factor.

Le Bon said: ‘’They’ve an amazing chance of winning. They are just so different to the rest of the contestants’ and called them ‘the most exciting act in Britain.’

But Pop Idol judge Pete Waterman poured scorn on the duo saying they were a forgettable flash in the pan destined to soon be forgotten.

As one third of production trio Stock, Aitken and Waterman, the pop guru helped launch the careers of Kylie Minogue,  Rick Astley and Jason Donovan- hardly the least manufactured pop stars on the planet.

‘’But he was adamant he said the twins wouldn’t have been long gone had he been one of the judges on the show.

The Pop Idol judge said: ‘’If I’d been on the show I’d have had them off it three weeks ago. The only reason people are watching is that they’re just staring at the screen and thinking, ‘You’ve got to be joking’.

‘’Who’s going to remember John and Edward in two years time?’’

The Duran Duran star isn't the only celeb to back the Grime brothers with Marvin Humes from JLS and Peaches Geldof publicly expressing their support.

BB's Bex is DEFINITELY getting a Jedward tattoo!

Filed under: Edward Grimes, John Grimes, Rebecca

heatworld image

Earlier this week, Bex of Big Brother and Big Boobies fame made a pact with her Twitter fans that if she secured 11,000 followers then she would have a Jedward tattoo done on her bum. Well, we simply had to step in and help, and guess what? Yes, she got her 11,000 followers! Hee hee! Bex confirmed on her Twitter page just now that she WILL be getting the X Factor inking, saying, "Yes every1, I will be getting the tattoo. More info will come in due course." We know we love Jedward, but this is taking it to the next level. At least if she gets it done on her bottom, then she can keep it hidden if they end up getting the boot in a few weeks time. We actually cannot wait to see the finished tattoo. Good on you, Bex!

'We can go the distance,' say cross-country running twins John and Edward as they plot to stay another week on X Factor

By Daily Mail Reporter

They've been derided for their lack of singing and dancing skills on a weekly basis on The X Factor.

But it appears the love-them-or-hate-them twins John and Edward Grimes do have a talent... running.

In pictures taken before they warbled and wobbled to notoriety, the identical twins are seen going through their paces on long-distance runs.

The 18-year-olds, who have competed in running competitions in their native Ireland, have promised to go the distance and survive another week.

Viewers were stunned last weekend when the twins survived the public vote, despite shouting their way through Queen's We Will Rock You.

Every week the pair have shrugged off criticism from the judges - particularly Simon Cowell - and proved they have remarkably thick skins.

But perhaps their ability to rise above the negativity stems from their competitive running background.

Keep smiling: John and Edward looked confident and upbeat as they left the X Factor house today

The pair are members of the Dundrum South Dublin (DSD) Athletics Club and came 7th and 13th in the Irish Schools Mountain Running Championship in March.

Last December, they came fifth (John) and sixth (Edward) in the Dublin & District Schools' Cross Country League.

John achieved a bronze in the 1,500metres at an under-19 indoor championships last March, while his brother was fifth, coming in six seconds slower.

Their trainer said: 'They've always loved to be the centre of attention but they're well intentioned at the end of the day.

Nervous: Stony-faced Jamie Archer (left) and Olly Murs looked anxious as they headed to rehearsals for Saturday's 'songs from the movies' show

'They're good boys, always very happy and keen to have everyone laughing.'

Spotted leaving the X Factor house in north London today, the pair smiled confidently as they headed to rehearsals.

It is believed they will perform Ray Parker Jnr's Ghostbusters theme on Saturday night.

Despite Cowell's dislike of them as entertainers, they have found some unlikely support in young royals Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie.

A royal source told The Sun: 'Bea and Eugenie love the X Factor. They're privately backing John and Edward. The twins are not everyone's cup of tea but the princesses admire their determination.'

However, the Prime Minister Gordon Brown told Manchester Radio Station Key 103 FM that he wasn't impressed with their singing skills: 'I don't think they're very good.'

Sorry I confused you and sorry again but I don't agreee with you. Let me clarify, I  disagree with your opinion that it's not a singing contest anymore.

Of course it is still a singing competition!! The twins are singing and entertaining me and thats why I like them. Surely the whole premise of allowing the public to vote is to vote for their favourite singer/entertainer & the twins would appear to be favourite with a lot of the viewing public hence their "popularity" and  in turn their ability to remain in the show.  Would you expect people to vote for 'unpopular'contestants.

If it's a singing competition, you vote for the best singer.
In which case the Twins wouldn't get any votes.

If they are an Entertainment act they should have gone on 'Britain's got Talent' shouldn't they.
I thought X-Factor was to find the next great singer.

Then why do singers go on BGT then?. If all these people who want to sing want to make it into the music business then XF is the right place to go. I think they should get rid of the singers out of BGT and focus on the entertainment as it is that kind of show. I want to see the magicians etc on there more.

I hope Jedward get lots of gunge and they have the backpacks and tops that the men had in the film, it will be a LOL moment for me for sure.

Don't know what happened to my response to Hickey. But this is what I wanted to say:

Well they didn't go on BGT and in my honest opinion are as entitled to be on XFactor as the other contestants. Their singing is entertaining me and many, many other members of the general public. The same public that VOTE them in each week. They are fabulous and entertainment gold!

Don't think Simon can sell Entertainment on a CD.
Well I don't think he'd want to take a chance on no-one buying it.
