I haven't read the entire thread, but did anyone else see on the BBC news this morning the reporter who went undercover and auditioned? She said that the people that audition go through several researchers and then are chosen to go through to the auditions before the judges. It's obvious that those who are awful are put through just for "entertainment" - like those two sisters who are living in their car.

If anything I only think that the early Beatles stuff was good. It was the perfect 3min pop songs, it was when they started believing their own shite, that they went down hill, plus the fact McCartney has always been dire.

It was entirely set up for telly....you are not going to end the show on a dud.... no excitement for the following week.... he had an excellent backing track.. given way long than two minutes and if you notice the camera work was good which, to me, implied rehearsed... no sudden out of frame shots
