I can't wait to watch The X Factor this year having been through part of the process. I met and spoke to quite a few people who are to be mainly featured on the show so can't wait to see how it all comes across and how it's put across on TV finding out a fair bit about behind the scenes stuff!

Although I'll still have to watch it green with envy and bitterness... Razzer next year shall be our year though Big Grin Razzer

I look forward to seeing it Smiler I know one guy who I think is a dead cert for the finals that we met and he was a really nice, genuine person who has been through the audition process before so helped us out with stuff. I won’t reveal his name as I don’t want to spoil it for people but I shall tell you who he was after it’s been on air!

If Joseph was the one who was at the end - the one who completely wowed the audience, and the judges, (the one who was a teacher???) then yes he was good, but I simply can't believe that it was all spontaneous as they tried to make out it was; it seemed very contrived, and he seemed like a professional. No way was he a total amateur who had never been on stage before.

It wouldn't surprise me if it emerged that he has been doing it for years and comes from a professional background - like Alexandra who won last year. She was made out to be a total amateur, and it turned out her mother was the lead singer of top 1990s soul band Soul-2-Soul.

Yep he was good, but I wish they would not fool us into thinking these people are 'amateurs' when they have been doing it professionally for quite some time. Laura from last year was another one - she had had a record contract with Matt Aitkin in the early 2000s, and had not managed to score a hit, and was dropped by his label, yet she made out she was a 'beginner.'

It should really be more about total amateurs who have a hidden talent, like Susan Boyle; not about getting failed 'professionals' who have already had a record contract or who have worked on a professional level, into the limelight.

He was excellent! He might not win it, but he'll go far!

joe was the teen with loads of family to back him up Smiler can't remember what he sang but he was excellent.

cheeky i didn't like the guy at the end much either (his name is danyl). he could sing but it was wayyyyy OTT for me and very gospel. i expected him to start casting the devil out of the crowd Ninja

I remember Joseph now. He was OK, but IMO not overly brilliant (sorry folks Frowner () He has too much wobbliness in his voice, like he was trying to overdo the vibrato (sorry if that is not the right word...) I think if he had not been good looking, he wouldn't have got through. He was just 'OK' to me.

Yes, the last one WAS Daniel. Thanks Darthhoob.

Agreed....I reckon the first thing they'll do is knock the wobbliness out of his voice....waaay too much and he needs to be able to hold a note....he's def got the school girl poster looks tho.

Totally enjoyed the last guy, Danyl.....look forward to seeing if he can cope with other styles too.

Well he definitely pinged my gaydar, could be wrong, but if not I wonder how he'll play it if he gets through to the final 12. Seems unfair to force an 18 yr old out in the national press if he's not ready for it and I suspect they will. Like I say I could be wrong, but the level of intrusion they go through to do this programme seems tough at times.

I found it too contrived and fake... Why fix it if it aint broke? Its just BGT part 2 with Cheryl and Danni thrown in Shake Head

Have to say, I don't understand how Joseph got to the judges (well I do cuz it isn't all about vocals and it's XF there's so much more in it, it's about TV!) I heard plenty people better than him at the auditions. Don't get me wrong, he had a nice voice, but I wouldn't say it was anything outstanding. My friend went to college with him and I've seen her shows she does and there were so many other male singers his age who were so much better!

And he hardly lives anywhere near Cheryl! South Shields isn't even in Newcastle!

He seems like a really nice lad though so good luck to him Smiler

oh and we might be on TV, they did some shots of us. I'm hoping they're not though as they're rather cringeworthy! I think we're gonna go back next year and not do musical theatre, that was our big downfall IMO. Still we got to round three!

Big Grin And Simon said he was trying to bring something new to the show to revive it, does he think we are that dumb to not notice the similarity? Laugh

He probably thinks that X-Factor is so popular that it doesn't matter what changes he makes, we will still watch it. Tbh, I would rather they skip the auditions and go straight to book camp. The auditions seem to concentrate on the rubbish and the "funny" ones, and the good ones we hardly get to see until boot camp. The hour and a half it was on, couldn've been condensed into about 40 mins.
