Still time for zombification, rapture or disappointment folks

Well I'm reading this at 8 minutes past midnight BST which is 8 minutes past 11 GMT, so thats the time thing covered and I ain't no zombienor do I feel raptured. So either it didn't happen or I'm disappointed, or both....as I reckon that it not happening should make me disappointed.

We wont know when it happens. That is the best thing about it. No-one can predict the end of the world- only those that may cause it. Aliens or nuclear Armageddon

Not at all surprised Vid, as I didn't believe a word of it.  There has always been all sorts of predictions of dooooooom from various people over the years, but the world still continues to turn...

Hi Lori, hope you're well.

If he had read his bible more carefully he would realise that nowhere in it does it even speculate as to when the Second Coming will be.  Indeed its made clear that even Jesus does not know.

Beat me to it!

Matthew 24:34-36

"Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only."

I read an interesting article in the Christian Science Monitor about this:

http://www.csmonitor.com/Scien...e-world-actually-end

Leaving aside the question of whether it's possible to calculate the date of Judgement Day from the Bible anyway (see above), it seems that Harold Camping made some pretty obvious errors in his (rather convoluted) calculations.

For a start, he counts April the 1st, 2011 twice.

Then he bases his count on Jesus' crucifixion, which he takes to be April 1st, 33AD, Only thing is: that date was a Wednedsay. (Those who remember their Sunday School lessons may spot the problem there... )

Can't believe so many in the US and elsewhere in the world believed him. People like him with his message of fear affected many lives, just one instance, a Mother in Detroit killed her 5 year old son because of her fear of how he might suffer if it was the end of the world.

The preacher who through the media got so much publicity has apologised for getting the date wrong and has suggested another date...I won't quote it. People should find out for themselves what's ahead and then either believe it or not, it makes no difference, it will either happen or not.
