what like the goal that Germany scored in the last gasp when it came off a Germans arm to send the game into extra time, or the Hurst goal that was supposed to have not crossed the line, still he scored another after that didn't he

The Hurst goal is the only one I'm aware of hearing about, As I understand it , the controversy centres around the question of whether he would have scored that further goal if the 'controversial' goal had NOT been given. I've been hearing it, on and off, the whole of my life ........especially around World Cup time!

Me too, although that had a lot to do with the fact that I had a bet on them to win at 5/1. 
When Colombia equalized, my colleagues kidded me on a bit about how my bet wasn't looking so good anymore. I just reminded them that there was still more than half the match to go, and Colombia were still a man down...

I think there is a bit of a difference in this England team. Early days yet, but let's see how far they go, my prediction is the QF. I think it may be a team with work in progress. I would not be unhappy with a positive tournament and reaching QF, SF even better.
