I had to go out and close my cold frames because the lids were flailing in the wind and nearly broke 
we've had it here for 24 hours Pam... in the early hours of this morning I thought the roof was lifting

I got back from giving the girl a lift to college this morning & passed our bag of recyling (clear council bin bags) in the car as it bobbed down the road...
I knew it was ours.. cos it was full of empty Volvic with a touch of fruit Blackcurrent bottles 
When I got to my house there a few bags of other peoples recycling bobbing down after mine

Our boxes, bags, and contents also flew down the road. Now that we are filing our rubbish for the council we expect it.
Strong winds earlier on this evening in Glasgow ,my clematis that was growing up the side of the door is blown down,the piece of fencing wood that held it up has broken.Not too fussed, end of the season and you can cut it right back and it will come back again in spring time.

Looks that way. So much for the so-called Indian Summer we were promised. Don't mind if it's cold, dry and bright but this is just wet and miserable (bit like meself )
It's a bit early for Indian summers! Hope we get one though!
No wind in the Tees Valley! I'm going out to get a few windfalls and elderberries. I have sloes, wild plums, and hips, so I will experiment at blending a jelly.
