A bit early, but after reading the new Radio Times, there were a couple of shows (one old, one new) that really stuck out for me.
The old: I've no idea why, but BBC4 are starting a re-run of "I, Claudius" on Tuesday at 10pm. Almost the definition of "they don't make them like that anymore" TV...
The new: "The Challenger", BBC2, 9pm. It's a dramatization of Nobel prize-winner Richard Feynman's investigation into the Challenger space shuttle disaster. William Hurt is playing Feynman - he doesn't seem to do a lot of film or TV now, but I really liked him in "Endgame"; another historical dramatization a few years back.
For those who've never heard of Feynman before, I cannot recommend enough the collections of his autobiographical anecdotes "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" and "What Do You Care What Other People Think?". His experiences during the Challenger enquiry were detailed in the second book under the title "Mr. Feynman goes to Washington".
