BTW, every time a movie comes out, I ask myself, "Is this the one with the pool?" This time, that answer was finally "yes!". Smiler

I read the books so long ago I'd forgotten a lot of the details....

Blush my nephew turned to him mum and said "mummy are you crying" she answered "no why?" him "cause auntie susan is" Blush

I saw it on Monday and tbh as good a film as it was visually I was bitterly disappointed with how little attention was paid to the actual title.

In the book when I discovered that Snape was the halfblood prince I almost dropped my book, I was so godsmacked, it was amazing, but in the film it was truly a 'blink and you'll miss it' moment, I was so disappointed.

They could have spent far less time on the Ginny/Harry and Ron/Hermione will they-won't they stuff and much more time shaping the actual story and the revelations. I love having the possible romances between the characters just quietly boiling away in the background, not being the focal points!

Imo, the whole "oh wow oh wow it all fits so well!" moments that you get in the books are totally lost in the films, and that's such a shame Frowner

I generally go into the films now not expecting them to do the book any justice...

It's less of a let down Smiler

The three things that REALLY annoyed me were the missing out of:
"Hissy hissy little snakey, slither on the floor, you be good to Morfin or he'll nail you to the door."
and
"Fred reckons his left buttock hasn't been the same since"
Cause those bits made me laugh so much :P
And the addition of the scene where the burrow got destroyed... I was like WTF?

But plenty of Draco, so all's good Smiler

Isn't The Burrows in the maddest location ever?! Just in the middle of a corn field.

It was dire. Lets hope this is the last one they make. HP is no longer something different and it is all very samey. The original actors/actresses are no longer adolescents, they are grown up and they need to move on before they become typecast. Same goes for the so called supporters of what started out as something magical and interesting and is now boring and unoriginal Sleepy

I have to agree ... I saw the film yesterday and almost fell asleep during it ... Plus, is it just me or is the acting actually getting worse amongst the 'child' characters ....? Disappointed

Im so glad im not the only one who thinks they cant act. The girl playing Ginny was terrible. Most of the time she just looked bored. I will never forget the scene in the 4th film where Daniel was crying over cedrics body - I dont think i have ever laughed as much in my life. His "crying" was like Salem in Sabrina the teenage Witch totally sarcastic and fake sounding.

Dont get me started on hermione... She never sounds like shes having a conversation it is just her reading a script. OOTP "well done neville - you've found the room of requirement" would you really say it like that?? And it was Dobby who told Harry about it... The amount the change/leave out is ridiculous.

Just had a thought:

In the film of Order of the Phoenix, they don't show them cleaning Grimmauld Place, which is where they first come across the real Slytherin Locket...

So how, in the next film, are they going to work out where it is? Or will they just leave the whole Kreacher and Regulus bit out and have Neville stumbling across it. As per.

Just a thought Smiler

It was upsetting that they didn't include the little song from Morfin in the film... that made me laugh so much :P

"Hissy hissy little snakey,
Slither on the floor,
You be good to Morfin,
Or he'll nail you to the door."
