It has taken me this long to write anything about Freddie since his eviction. Not because I didn’t know what to say, but because I just wanted to chill and absorb what happened.
Freddie leaving last night was bittersweet. More bitter than sweet, but sweet enough to make me smile. I’m happy for him. He was evicted to nothing but cheers, he had an amazing interview, and he really enjoyed himself on BBBM. There was not an ounce of negativity in him, nor regret. He even had something nice to say about Lisa, bless him.
When his name was called I had already been told by a source that Marcus had been evicted. I was still watching through fingers though, which was probably a good thing. I was shocked, but not to the extent of utter bemusement. I knew that it would be a close vote. By my estimation, there were probably only a few thousand votes between them.
In the end, Freddie didn’t need the money, so that doesn’t even factor in. What he does take from this is the experience. He is all about living, and he certainly did that in the house. Good for him, and good on him for lapping up the eviction atmosphere and enjoying every bit of it.
The one reason I regret Freddie going is to do with Bea specifically. I didn’t want her to have the satisfaction of believing herself to be something special. She is nothing special. The vast majority of the public despise her, and the sooner she finds that out the better. Her barefaced smirk last night said it all. “I’ve won”. You’ve won nothing, Bea. People will forever remember you as the deluded self obsessed headcase.
In years to come, when people ask ‘Remember Big Brother 10?’, people will reply ‘Yeah, the one with Freddie, Marcus and Siavash’. It will be Freddie’s name that is remembered, not Lisa’s, or Bea’s, or Charlie’s. So in that sense, Freddie is a winner by default, in being remembered, and for all the right reasons.
Thank you for the good times, Freddie. Rock on.
