I didn't watch any of it the first time around.  When it started again from the beginning on Sky Atlantic we started watching and really got in to it, and looked forward for the next episode.  About a month ago we borrowed the boxed set off a mate of Mr Cinds, and have managed to watch the complete set in the last 4 weeks.  About 1.30 this morning we go to the end of the final episode.  WHAT THE HECK??

We got through series 5 & 6 last weekend when we were away as it rained and rained and rained some more. Where Tony was concerned, sometimes I liked him other times I despised him.

On a side note, I bought coffee this morning to take in to the office, I had pulled over in a car park to put sweetener in mine and a motorbike pulled along side me.  My first thought "OMG I'm going to get 'clipped'"   I've definitely watched too much Sopranos.

Mad woman.    I loved the early series of the Sopranos.. then they started moving them around and I lost them and never did see them out.   I'd buy the boxed set of this (and Greys Anatomy which suffered a similar fate) if only I didn't already have 90+ hours on my V+ box....

Loved it, it was absolutely beautiful so it didn't matter about the rain.  We had everything we needed right there.  Oh yeah and the whirlpool bath

I think that's going to be the next series I watch.  I've never watched it but it does sound good.  At the minute I'm catching up on all the series' of 24.  Never watched it when it was on TV but it's been addictive!  Same with Prison Break and Dexter....they never appealed to me when on TV but I watched both from start to finish and thought they were amazing.

I don't think there's anything I, or anyone-else, can say or do other than offer sympathy.

The final episode of "The Sopranos" is notorious, and there are several whole websites devoted to it and its possible meanings.

The only thing I'd say in its defence is that it's not as bad as the final episodes of "Soap" or "The Colbys"...

Thanks Eugene.  I might have to go and hunt these websites down and have a good old rant about it.  The Mister and I had been coming up with some brilliant final scenarios of what we thought might happen, and to be honest some of them would have been a much better ending.

I didn't really watch Soap or The Colbys so don't know how they finished.

The only good thing about the ending of the Sopranos was the tune they played over the final scenes

Both series were controversially cut by the studios. The writers responded by creating ridiculous endings - partly as a two-fingered gesture, and partly as an attempt to ensure their respective series were never resurrected.

The final episode of "Soap" (a sitcom, remember), ended with all of the main characters about to be killed. "The Colbys" infamously ended with Fallon abducted by aliens!

At least David Chase had full control over the ending of "The Sopranos", and wasn't pushed into it...
