I haven't watched EE for years Gypsie.... although I do dip into Corrie every now and then...

I dont watch EE, but my sister ranted on about how can they change peoples personalities so quickly, it doesnt make sense to her , she said. 
Corrie and Emmerdale not up to much either. Tracy  in one and Amy  in the other , plus why has Steve in Corrie forgot Tracy murdered someone

YES, skylark, I noticed this too. Bianca has come out of jail all mega -chaved up and a completely different person to how she went in. It bugs me so much.

Gyps I stopped watching the soaps about 4 years ago because they are all shit.

However, I did go to bed at 9 last night to watch Downton Abbey.   YAY Mary & Matthew 

Now there's an idea ...........the three word story game ........over in games would make a fab soap IMO.

I only watch Eastenders & Hollyoaks...   Hollyoaks is the worst for characters having complete change of personalities...   but hey ho..    we watch them cos the pace of action is faster (yeah... unrealistically faster...  but if I wanted reality I'd just snoop through the neighbours windows)

I've loved Eastenders this Christmas...  I agree with all the criticisms..   the 2 min domestic violence marriage etc...   but I have still loved it

I watched Emmerdale, it's been OK and did not bother with Corrie as i've found it dull recently.

EastEnders been the best over the 2 nights IMO, i'm bias but it had lighter moments (yeah I know) like Lauren Branning hairdrying the turkey and slagging off One Direction to Abi, some funny one liners, Kim in funny mode as usual/Bianca with her kids and Phil/Ben dancing then the drama with Ben being predictably revealed as the stalker.  Dr Death causing trouble for the Masoods also..

EastEnders clearly is unpopular on here but it trounced the other 2 soaps ratings wise and had 8 trending topics at one stage on Twitter.

I have been saying this for several years now, that the soaps aren't brilliant.  Even Corrie is not as good as it used to be, but is still miles better than EE.  Hollyoaks is shit imo, and like EE, I hardly know anyone over 25 who watches it.  They seems to attract the same audience as 'the only way is essex' which is also shit imo, and that bloody awful piece of poo 'desperate scousewives.'  Seriously, who really watches this garbage and calls it intelligent entertainment?   

EE storylines have been laughable and pathetic for an age now, and God alone knows how they keep getting the best soap award.  All I can think of is that it's fixed.  If the vote is genuine, then 90% of the voters must be under 25, coz who the HELL is voting for this shit?  Just because it keeps getting the best soap award does not mean it's the best, or that people prefer it over and above all the others...It just means that a LOT of people are not voting.., The same as just because a film gets buckets of oscars doesn't mean it's the best, or the actors who have won oscars are better than the ones who have never won one. 

Most people I know agree that EE used to be much better...I seriously think it needs pensioning off now.  If I was an up and coming young actor, I would refuse a part in EE, because I think that quite a number of young and unknown actors who have started off in EE are actually finishing off their career before it's even started, because it's shit.  I also think that a few of the actors in EE are poor: especially the newer ones.. Or maybe it's the shit storylines.  A number of young actors have been written out in the past year, and you can bet that we don't hear of them again. 

Re Corrie: I really am getting a bit irked with the storylines there lately too.  I mean, this Steve wanting to be with Tracey bullshit... come on...  This is so so so unbelievable.  It's making me not want to watch.  I am even finding Norris and nutty Mary a bit predicatable and annoying now. 

And the Peter/Carla thing is just so zzzzzzzzz  And so is the relationship between that windass bird and the builder.  He is an aggressive control freak.. and it's obviously going to end badly.  And the cheesyness of the Crimbo episode was cringeworthy...  The unmarried teen mum giving birth at Christmas in a nativity scene.  Daft. 

And it made me laff when they had snow everywhere, and there wasn't a single flake in the entire country.!!!  We were under 6" of it last December and Corrie makers obviously assumed that we would be this year too: so they hedged their bets and made all the scenes over the crimbos eps all snowy, and it was 15 to 16 degrees C everywhere and not a drop of frost or snow in sight!

I didn't watch EE cos i can't stand the family TBH and wasn't interested in the storyline

I don't watch easties.. but I saw a bit the past few days.   anybody want to give a brief resume on the nasty woman bashing indian guy who was he?  why was she with him, cos I know she is/was married to the other bloke  - why were there about nine explosions, when did little Ben grow up into such an ugly twerp and who's kev?

I did enjoy Corrie though.... I want to slap Steve - AND Dreary.. Poor Becky... I hope that nasty piece of work gets found out.

I think Becky's acting has been fabulous over Christmas - especially so given the rubbish storyline. I haven't seen the others, but have recorded them ... am going to settle down for a big sesh tomorrow, now that the family have gone

I have been loving the soaps, all of them!! I also love the run down I get on the soaps if I have missed them of an evening....you shoulda seen the impression of Tamwar that the Gyps done the night he walked from the burning house in flames.....I genuinely  thought she was having an epileptic fit

Emmerdale has been the best for a good few weeks now closely followed by Corrie

 Love the desperate "soap drama " at Christmas, tis a shame that there wasn't any new "situation comedy drama" to be had.........real lack of new comedy on TV, even Absolutely Fabulous  was a damp squib..

I enjoyed the Lapland show on (I think) Christmas Eve Sydders ... although I did shed a quiet tear
