does anyone miss the seaside - with ice cream cones and buckets and spades,and balls in all colours hanging from shop fronts,and the sunshine,and the smell of chips and the arcade with 'penny falls'....

That sounds like Broadstairs which would still be a suitable place for an Edwardian lady to visit.

Not like that Margate place!

I love the seaside and try to get there every other weekend, whatever the weather. But preferably when it is nice weather.

I was driving home from Grantham yesterday afternoon and it was raining so hard I could barely see out of the windscreen. Reminded me of many a happy summer holiday in Conway.

My in-laws live about 100 metres from the sea at Westgate...along the coast from Margate...whenever we go down there always end uo on the beachfront cafe with coffee and cake.

are you in blackpool pud????...i love love love blackpool......had loads of hollibobs there when i was a kid.....cos me mum's from there.....still go now with the kids.....they love it.......

I adore the seaside - it is my dream to one day have a house overlooking the see - won't happen, though.

When we lived in Suffolk, we used to love going to Frinton on Sea. In those days, 15 years ago, it was still very traditional, don't know how much it has changed now.

My sister is going to Broadstairs this week, her fellas mother lives there.

I had the pleasure of taking my granddaughter Lily, to the seaside a couple of months ago. I loved it as much as she did! Stinky old shells and dead crabs, sand between your toes, she didn't like going in the sea. Ice cream smeared all over her face. Oh it was great!!!

Then I went to Burnham near Weston the other week. Despite the diet, I had my fix of candy floss, and seaside fish and chips.

I love the seaside. But love the countryside equally!

I'm happy walking on the beach or in the Derbyshire peaks and having your Grandchildren with you is what life is all about IMO

oh yes we used to go on caravan holidays to the beach when i was a kid - absolutely loved it.

And now Ive moved from Norfolk, where I could pop to the coast whenever I wanted, to Milton Keynes i havent been for years - we are so far away from the coast here

noo i hate it, i hate beaches they are really hard work, and i hate sand, and i hate litter and stuff in sand. Id like sand if it was clean like in a bounty advert, but even then i think the beach would be a bit inconvenient. Much prefer pools or boats.

i hate driving through grantham, too confusing

i love the seaside but too many people
