I went for the platinum solitaire too (not a square diamond though... a round one)

Like Sooz ...   I still love mine..   I still admire mine (especially when the spotlights in the kitchen make it sparkle at me )

Actually mines a round diamond but set in 4 corners so it looks square. I'm always looking at mine too - even after all these years

Hahaha, I'm the same. Mines platinum with a princess cut diamond, but the band  kind of shoulders along the sides of the stone so it sits at a slight angle.

I'm starting to worry the jewellers have forgotten about me

I know how you feel, mine had to go back and it seemed to take forever.  Be worth the wait when you get it back and spend the next few weeks living your life using your left hand.

They gave me a sort of receipt and it says it would be completed by the 1st, so tomorrow. I think if I haven't heard from them tomorrow I'll pop in and see if they can tell me how much longer it will be

edit. just saw the left handed bit. I think if I tried to be a lefty, I'd never get anything done My left hand is bloody useless

Even better, means people will have longer to admire your ring while you slowly fumble your way through every day tasks.

You might have to have it made smaller Saz...

Don't worry about it feeling like it was cutting in when your hands are warmer (or when you put on a pound or two)..     after a while the ring becomes a part of you..   & you get a ring groove on that finger...

I haven't been able to get my engagement & wedding rings off since I got married

I was saying to mam that I can't have it only fitting when my hands are warm as they're cold 40%+ of the time

Funnily enough, all through my childhood (and right up to when she got pancreatic cancer) my mum could never get her rings off. In the childish way you do, I just assumed that it was something that happened as you got older. However it would seem that that is NOT a given. After 25+ years of marriage I am still waiting (not really) for the time to come when I can't get my rings off! (Though I do have 'ring grooves'.)

Extremely Fluffy Fluffy Thing

Well, I went back into the jewellers on the way home and explained what was happening. I tried on the smaller size and it really did feel too tight when my hands were warm, so I think it might be uncomfortable when they're hot The girl also did say that a day isn't really long enough and I should give it over the weekend to see. So I did, and it was maybe just a case of getting used to it, I never wear rings usually, so I'm not sure how tight they're supposed to be really I'll see what my mam thinks next weekend
